The perfect CL for peace, quiet and walking

Bodilan Fach Farm
We only stayed for one night, but we'll certainly be returning. The CL is next to the owners' farm, on a patch of grass next to a fast flowing river. It's slightly sloping so levellers might be required. The owners are busy farmers and always waved as they shot passed on the quad bikes, sheepdog on the back! They were very helpful but left us along to enjoy the peace and quiet. The CL is situated in a dead-end valley, surrounded by mountains. There are plenty of walks direct from the site, including visiting the Castell-y-Bere ruins. The views down the valley and up over the mountains was amazing - we felt we were in Austria or northern Spain. It's very quiet and pitch black at night - no artificial lighting apart from the odd farm on the opposite mountainside. There's no phone signal but that suited us perfectly. The water and waste facilities are basic, but just what we like - no fuss. One of those rare CLs that provide excellent value for money and the most amazing views in beautiful countryside.

Lovely off grid camping

Bodilan Fach Farm
We had a short stay here and found the remote campsite, with a small stream running through it, on a working farm, to be beautiful and excellent value for money.

Bodilan Fach Farm
nice and peacefull , water not from mains supply, but fillter of montains tasted funny , buy bottled water for drinking , no phone signal at all , we liked the peace , we did find it hard to find ,went to the wrong farm which was well sign , the one we needed was well hidden but found in the end , very tight turns and very narrow roads room for just one car and caraven on.i dont know how or what would have happen if we had met anyone coming the other way as no where to pull in or no room to back up anywhere .

Hidden gem

Bodilan Fach Farm
This is a basic campsite. We like that and so do many others. It is situated on a farm in a beautiful, quiet, unknown to most little valley. The access is a bit tight for larger outfits and the site itself does slope. There is a tap, a rubbish bin and a field. At the side of the field is a stream. There are views across to the hills around Cadair Idris, which can itself be reached by probably the least steep approach to the summit from any direction.  There are flat walks and steep walks and in between. There is a great 12 mile cycle ride out towards the coast and back on quiet lanes. The Afon Cadair is a great kayak trip if it rains - just 200 yards away. It won't suit people who like manicured grass, marked out pitches and electricity. There is no mobile signal. It is proper camping - probably closer to wild camping than most caravan sites. We loved it. We know there are others who will too. And it's very cheap!
