Why stay here ...

A pleasant, open and level site bordered by oak trees, Chester Fairoaks Club Site is conveniently placed just off the M53 gateway to North Wales and close to the delightful walled city of Chester. The caravan site is also close to a lovely canal walkway, a local swimming pool, and has two pubs and shops just a short walk away.

Chester Fairoaks Club Site gives you easy access to the wealth of things to see and do in nearby Chester. Take in the sights while relaxing in an open top bus or wander around The Walls to absorb the colourful atmosphere. Immerse yourself in some history and tradition by seeing the town crier, the incredible 900-year old Cathedral and the Roman Amphitheatre. If all that sightseeing builds up your appetite, there are plenty of excellent restaurants on hand and for those who like a spot of shopping, The Rows Shopping Galleries will leave you spoilt for choice. With 12,000 animals to see in 110 acres of gardens, nearby Chester Zoo is a fun day out for the whole family. All in all, the caravan site offers something for the whole family.

Our first visit to the Chester area

This popular site is well placed for local motorways as well as Chester, Liverpool and Wrexham. It is close by two large retail outlets, Cheshire Oaks and The Colosseum and three eat-for-less pubs, a Harvester, a Hungry Horse and the Old Hall Farm. They are all within easy walking distance from the site by turning right out of the main gate. Rake Lane is, however, a busy thoroughfare and there is no footpath. There is a little bit of grass verge for part of the way but it soon peters out. One of the large retail (so called Designer-) outlets is also easily walked to and a large Sainsbury's supermarket and petrol station is close by. Unleaded is reasonably priced there but when we visited diesel carried a 7p per litre premium. You will get some aircraft as well as traffic including motorway noise but that is drowned out in the toilet block by loud piped radio pop music. The site is pleasant with generous pitches, the vast majority being hard standings, and the toilet block is modern. Our daughter (25) wasn't too pleased with the showers because there was ample variation of cold setting but warm was at the very end of the adjustment. I, on the other hand was delighted the shower head was high enough for me to get under and the feed pipes were shielded so avoiding inadvertently touching very hot or cold pipes. For motorcaravanners there is an easy drive-over grill for grey water dumping and two manhole covers for black water. Although the site is level there was some evidence of levelling blocks being required for some motorhomes on some pitches. The site is kept immaculately and when we were there green fingered expertise was well in evidence. It looked beautiful. We were warmly welcomed by one of the wardens and given a nice pack of leaflets to get us going. The information booth is kept tidily and there are many more useful leaflets there. We were told this is a popular site so fees are ratcheted up during so called high season to reflect that. One week out of high season for three adults cost us £248.50. In high season it would see that rise to £308. If you intend to take your motorhome to the nearest park-and-ride facility at Chester Zoo then be warned that although there are parking bays for motorhomes before the height barrier they are not much bigger than a standard sized car parking space so any van over say 6m will stick out into the road where all cars enter and leave the site. Enjoy your stay here.

Good for a few days.

We had four nights here, really nice. Weather helped! Wardens absolutely magic, pleasant, helpful and always had time for you. The toilet block was kept immaculate. Which could have been better with a little help from from us campers. Although the club doesn’t leave J cloths in the wash cubicles anymore, which is understandable, it’s no trouble to have one in your wash bag, So then you can leave the sinks clean and dry ready for the next camper. Whilst I am moaning, again at fellow campers, please use the squeegee mop. Stopped moaning now. This site is ideally situated for shopping at Cheshire Oaks or Chester Zoo. Both literally round the corner. We aren’t ones to use sites twice, but might break the rule on this one.

Perfect Site for Exploring Area

We have just returned from a week's holiday at Chester Fairoaks. It is the first time that we have stayed on this Club Site but it certainly won't be the last. Lovely site, very well run, spotlessly clean, quiet and peaceful. Well placed for exploring the area. The bus service is a great way to travel too. The staff were so helpful and cheerful. We had a lovely holiday. And met some great folk too. Well recommended. The Sutherlands

This site is a jewel in the crown of the Caravan & Motorhome Club

This is the first time we visited & Stayed at Chester Fairoaks, and we were very pleased with our choice of site. we stayed on the bank holiday weekend 28th to 31st for our 4 nights, we found the pitch we had was No 16 and from 19 onwards were a sunny pitch with hard standing and a good size for our motorhome and awning, will be returning as we found a lots to do. The site is situated within close walking distance to 2 Pubs, and each do meals. The rake in Rake Lane, & the Harvester at the entrance to Rake Lane A5117, The shopping Centre is something else very good. Now the site is well, it sets the Bar for all other sites as a standard this is because of the amount of hard work and dedication that the wardens are doing daily, a big thanks to Sharon and her team very well done. And the site was immaculate, the showers were cleaned spotless and all the usual sort of stuff you see from a quality run site. Superb As Arnie says WE WILL BE BACK... Steve & Ann in SAM 2
