The site is surrounded by rolling wooded countryside and situated near the Pilgrims Way, so there are many lovely walking trails - in particular across the North Downs - to explore at your leisure. The site is perfect for dog walkers; you can pick up details about the Downlands Circular Walk from the site entrance. The Fox pub can also be reached by foot and is approximately 40 minutes away. Suits us to a T!

We stay here on a fairly regular basis as we have relatives & friends who live nearby & it makes an ideal base to visit them from. We have always found the site to be well managed & the Wardens very friendly & efficient. Facilities are always clean & well maintained. We were there over Christmas & enjoyed a very convivial get-together, many thanks. Looking forward to our next visit already.

Short stay

Great facilities, good tv reception. Very good MHS point. Stayed two nights, mainly to collect a bicycle bought on E-Bay, so did not travel far from site, but suspect travel into London quite easy.

Quiet

We stayed have at short notice at the beginning of November and found the site easily following the instructions on the site details, although the road along Gatton Bottom does get a bit narrow at a couple of points. The barriers were not working (seems to be a common problem to some sites),but at least one warden was around the reception during the day. The site is within the M25 but not in the Low Emission Zone. I couldn't hear any road or airplane noise, just the birds. Didn't see any deer but I expect they were close by. The parakeets (or is it parrots) were making their presence known during our walks around the site. There seems to be quite a few seasonal pitched caravans but they are spread out so don't seem so intrusive to the general atmosphere of the place. Yes we will be back as it is a good base for visiting London and NT sites nearby.

Mixed feelings about this site

The site is well located with extensive green spaces.  The site is run for the benefit of its wardens as opposed to its members.  Despite having 6 wardens the office closes far too early as it makes no allowances for the inevitable holdups on both the M23 and M25.  The wardens strictly enforce every rule in the book there is no flexibility and often their decisions defy common sense and safety. This is a large site with far too many caravans unoccupied so that is often difficult to make a booking.  There are also too many pitches allocated to workers with vans.

Redhill site

We like this site for the location close to redhill as my wife works close to the site and I can relax and enjoy the walks around and about, you will need a car if you want to get to redhill or anywhere else the site again is well kept and the wardens were friendly,it's a large site with grass and hard standing, can take RV's.
