Longleat Club Campsite in Warminster is one of the network's most unique locations - where else in the UK or Europe can you hear lions roaring at night from the comfort of your bed? Set in beautiful parkland, the campsite is located in the midst of the lovely Longleat Estate. The area's famous Safari Park, first to be opened outside Africa, is literally on the doorstep of the Longleat Club Campsite. It's just a 5 minute walk directly from the site to Longleat House and Longleat Safari Park if you prefer not to take your vehicle, and you can buy tickets at Longleat's back gate or buy in advance online at Longleat.

There are several pubs within a 2 mile radius (a lovely walk on a summers evening) and a short drive will bring you to the lively towns of Bath and Bristol. The Roman, Regency and 20th century Bath being a special favourite for visitors touring in Wiltshire. Still famous as a spa, you can take to the waters and literally soak yourself in history. With winding streets and pretty listed buildings, Frome is about 15 minutes from the site. Several fascinating nearby sites of historic interest include Stonehenge, Avebury Neolithic monument and Lacock Abbey.

Please note that Longleat are not able to accept dogs within the grounds or attractions. There are other beautiful walks also available from the Club side of the road that members can enjoy freely and at their own leisure.

Directions

Map showing campsite location

Follow sat nav to The White Hart pub (postcode BA12 7PH) then follow the brown tourist signs to the site. Alternatively, turn left off the A36 Warminster bypass (Salisbury - Frome) at the roundabout onto the A362 (signposted Frome). In about 0.5 mile at the roundabout take the A362 (third exit) to Frome. After 2.25 miles turn into Lane End next to the White Hart pub. Continue past the Safari Park Entrance and Stalls Farm before turning left again. The site entrance is 200 metres on left. This is the only permitted entry route for caravans and motorhomes. Please note that estate routes may change in the case of a special event. Note: When using sat nav for directions to the site, please use the postcode BA12 7PH ( pub at Lane End on the A362), and follow the brown direction signs to site. If coming from the Warminster direction on the A362 please do not attempt to take the first left after the Royal Oak pub as this lane is far too narrow.

Another Great CAMC Site

Longleat Club Campsite
This is a lovely campsite, in a great location and setting...excellent if you want to visit Longleat, sadly we couldn't as we have a dog! As mentioned in other reviews you can hear the animals...doing the washing up while the Lions roar close-by adds a certain excitement to proceedings that you wouldn't normally enjoy! And yes the sealions...it sounds like they have one in particular that is extremely vocal at the moment but we didn't let it bother us, we actually found it quite amusing...even at 3am when she was making her presence known! At the end of the day, it a campsite next to a wildlife/safari park...you're going to hear the animals. The staff were friendly as always, particularly '2 badge Sandra' and keep the site looking good and the facilities clean...the little shop at reception was an added bonus, it not only sells some camping essentials but also food and snacks, which is very handy. There are food trucks by the entrance some evenings, didn't try them but they looked good and very popular. Only real negative of the site is the phone signal is virtually non-existent and the wi-fi, even with full signal is mostly useless, which is a real shame...for the premium price of a CAMC site I really would expect the wi-fi to be useable and of decent speed. Phone signal is out of their control I guess...a phone mast on site isn't possible as the land belongs to Longleat. All-in-all a great site if you don't mind being incommunicado while on site...will definitely visit again.

Take ear plugs!

Longleat Club Campsite
Great site, nicely laid out, staff great, facilities good. Best bit - very close to Longleat, easy walk in. Worse bit - very close to Longleat! - We had disturbed nights due to the animal noise on and off all night. Mainly the Sea Lions which are close by and don't know when to call it a day. (and tractors starting at about 6am). Would still recommend for the access to the park but if you are light sleepers ear plugs would be a really good idea.

Camping ligt bij een safaripark

Longleat Club Campsite

Wonderful campsite

Longleat Club Campsite
First time at Longleat... what a wonderful place. Huge well maintained hardstandings in a peaceful tree covered environment. Facilities usual high club standards.. spotlessly clean. Staffed by a very friendly and helpful team. We were there over a bank holiday when site was full but you wouldn't know it as it is so well spaced out. Greek street food van on a Friday evening looked great but we did not eat there as we already had plans. Would we return... definitely.

Excellent stay

Longleat Club Campsite
Another fantastic stay. Stayed for 3 nights and visited the safari park. Amazing to hear the sealions, wolves and Lions from our pitch. We had a very peaceful stay. The facilities are always very clean and the staff were friendly
