New pricing in handbook

We have been members for many years on and of since the 1970's and this is the first time I have had to write.

I don't like the new pricing in the 2019 handbook. We went to a site in Wales this June 2019

and it said in the handbook (I quote)  2019 prices from £8.90 per night for pitch and one adult.

However we paid over £23.00 for the night. That was for two adults. That means one second adult was £15.00. This was called a booking fee. The pricing is not clear. We looked

in the handbook and you now have to download the correct price guide.

Sorry CMC this is a bit misleading.

Please bring back the old way of pricing.

I don't think the club claims you can does it?

Posted on 16/07/2019 14:22

no, but that was why I was checking the other site....

pitches for £6 and a crap website....

pitches for £26-36 and a nice website....

no contestwink

but you have said you couldn't verify that you could on a CCC site either?

".......?.....??????......

sorry, corners, don't understand this or its context.....I've not mentioned CCC anywhere, just responding to M and the claim in their mag re a private site at Wollacome.....

it's the private website that's no working, nothing to do with CCC ...

But the penny has now dropped....you're having a knock at the CCC website....wink

i should have guessedundecided

...but, as we move forward, if you book a break (say) now for early July 2020, won't the 'increased' prices (over today's prices) for that month already be on the 'my bookings' website and in one's confirmation...

and won't the booking now match the actual charge when you check in..?

with the advent of the rolling booking, doesn't the publishing of prices 'a year away' become the true 'next year price'?

as we now don't have 'cliff edge' blanket price increases, we should see the system gradually removing the need for adjustments at booking time, shouldn't we...?

i don't have any advance bookings to check...but can anyone see if a booking for (say) June 2020 is showing the proper next year's price and not 'today's price'.

showing next year's price means the system is gradually correcting itself with the advent of rolling prices

showing today's price means making adjustments at the till going forward....until some other action is taken.

I've check a booking I have for May 2020 and the my bookings prices and the prices on the site's webpage match exactly, so perhaps the system is correcting or is now correct?

correcting, id say.....

older bookings made prior to the last blanket change but taken after it will still be affected...

depending on the date the rolling system started, the number of wrongly  priced bookings will reduce.....to nil.

actually I wasn't knocking the CCC I rarely do and even then it is about my own experiences with them,

Bt yes I had somehow thought it was a CCC site for some reason, apologies.

Either way my point still stands, you couldn't verify the price at this site.

Don’t forget though Corners, the prices went up in November, but were then hiked a second time to cover the underestimate for energy costs. I think that’s where some of the confusion lies.

Posted on 16/07/2019 15:43

As far as am aware there was no 'second' increase

Anyone else spotted the advert for the much praised Woolacombe Bay site in this month's C&CC magazine?

"Pitches from £6 per night" !

What do we think of that for "creative pricing"! undecided

Posted on 16/07/2019 20:58

Surely most will realise that it's just the starting price for the pitches in low season and there will be additional cost for each person, child(ren), dog(s), awnings, H/S, services etc won't they?

...a spring 2020 price is already on the price page at the 'increased 2020' price and this won't change before arrival ....will it?

I wouldn't be too sure about that, seeing how it's gone in the past with at least 2 rises in a 12 month period.

Absolutely, although they don't seem to apply the same reasoning to the club's "from" prices! wink
