Covid 19 and membership

As all sites and CC approved sites have been suspended for 3 months (30th June) are we to expect the CMHC to suspend all memberships for 3 months.? My membership is due in July so I'm a bit loathed to not be able to use it and go anywhere only to be hit with a renewal as the suspension is lifted.

We hadn't actually booked anything so far, but have also thought that, even if we could get to France, there may be problems finding sites open.  Mind you, staying in the UK could have problems too, if everyone thinks along the same lines frown

Same with us. We were having some work done, ( now on hold) so hadn't booked anything, but were planning to visit France September / October. If this goes on into the summer, I can't see sites bothering to open and Aires will be in high demand and difficult to get into. I think we will give it a miss until 2021.

Also there is the fact, if you haven't had the virus and contracted it while in France, your insurance wouldn't cover you for any problems, as I'm sure it will still be written out.

Yes I thought that to. I would think in the future we will see a clause in any holiday insurance that they will not cover anything like Coronavirus, the very best we can hope for would be a small payment to cover such an illness.

Our thoughts to WN, there are a lot of sites that start to close down from  the middle of September, will they even bother to open at all.

If Spain is open for business this autumn/winter I think their sites will be very busy to.

I had an email from a French site chain today saying they were closed until April 15th and then there may be a change and they will keep me informed. Should have been leaving home today but I think its highly unlikely that the van will move at all this year.

We will go away this year somewhere I hope, once the restrictions are lifted. Might just be within Scotland but it would be nice to be able to get out and about.

Can't see France being open for business anytime soon, even if they were who would want to chance it. You might if you had already had the virus but until we know that .............

TammyG,  if the pressure comes off a bit by late summer, then it could be a good time to do the "500" round the North Coast without all those Sassenachs and Europeans getting in the way. Not that I'm antisocial  of course  but I could just consider sitting on the banks of Loch Naver about then  wink

You are most welcome ABM smile it will be high midge season by then so you should have the place to yourself laughinglaughinglaughing

We did the 500 many years ago before it became the 'must do' there are of course, still lots of places we have not visited, so will still find plenty to do.

No worries about little highland midgies, TammyG, I was inoculated by them on the slopes of The Merrick, in Glen Trool Forest Park --  That's where the Midgie SAS** gets trained wink.  And I've been a fervent advocate of the banks of Loch Naver from Altnahara Club Site for many a long year now

I am membership secretary of a fishing club, and our waters are "closed". However our members are more than happy to continue their membership, for the good of the club, and for the enjoyment it brings, and after this pandemic, will continue to enjoy...and I will continue membership of CAMC, another pastime I enjoy, and look to the future.
