Membership fees and request by Club to continue

Today I received an email as most likely all club members have regarding the Membership Fees and the request that we consider continuning membership.

I/we support that request and for the following reasons:

I/we have been members for a few years now, we have enjoyed the membership, the sites and facilities along with the website and whilst we haven't always agreed with some of the site policies we have continued our membership.

These are tough times for us all and on so many different levels and whilst I do understand that it is a question of prioritising where finances are concerned (same for us) we feel that the club has benefited us greatly over the term of our membership, we're kind of proud to be a part of it.

Businesses like individuals will be hard pressed in the months to come, the Club did not get to where it is now by shrinking from it's responsibilities, neither did it get there by complacency, it got there by virtue of it's management making good decisions, by taking action when it needed to and importantly because of it's loyal members, combine the two and you can see why it's a club to stay with and continue to stay with.

In short, for us personally we will continue to pay our membership/remain a member, we won't be asking for refunds, reductions or extensions , we feel that the best support we can give the club right now is to continue our subscription throughout this terrible situation we all find ourselves in.

Of course, how we proceed won't be everyones cup of tea but in some sense diversity can add cohesion. Please keep in mind that whilst our stance may not be yours, it is ours and we like you have the ability to choose which way we're going.

We hope to holiday later in the year by taking up our annual booking, but if we are unable to because we're still in quarantine, well we can't, nothing we can do about it, it's 'life' ....which right now seems more precious than ever.

but if you ignored the 'could do better' approach road to the site, Bury isn't such a bad place ...

I'll take your word for it, MM, and it’s useful to know.

I agree that the club has not been coming forward with discounts,  every time I see them they are for sites that no  one wants to go to.  What about the popular sites like Burrs park in Bury where no discounts are given but instead the fees are extremely high and are now comparable with the large commercial sites.  No matter how immaculate the sites are most are basic sites.  The club even recommends the basic price a certified site should charge.  The management of the club should come out of the comfort bubble into the real world.

What you and I and many other "older retired"members at times do not take into account ,  is the fact that MOST younger members , it seems, do not think that prices are high, as their wages are so much more than when I retired in 1994,my old job is much the same apart from the salary is 4 times what i earned and it has two assistants where i did it on my own, and it seems the same through out UK industry? so costs for everything have risen to  at least match, and sites are much busier now, with more staff  that have had to be taken on to meet legislation including a lot of now "outsourced" work

Whilst accepting that the lack of response by CMC to a membership extension is questionable, I feel trying to use the FOI act to obtain financial information on certain executives going way too far . Turn that scenario on its head ,I'm sure you wouldn't be best pleased if CMC wanted to know your financial details as it was considering means testing members and then charge pitch fees accordingly..

As a pensioner, I feel that my income is very available, and if not I am more than happy to reveal it! But I pay - as do you - the executives' pay, and therefore feel that I'm entitled to know what it is. After all - 'We're all in this together", aren't we? And the Club is very happy to tell me what site wardens get - are they not as valuable to us, and the Club?

I absolutely agree that our membership should be extended for the amount of time the sites are closed.
The club is run for members and it’s the members that keep it going - so no members, no club!!
All members should be offered an extension, if they choose not to take the offer up they can pay fees as normal, others like my husband and myself are both key workers, we like many would really appreciate this gesture by the club, so that when we are out the other side of this tragedy we can enjoy a holiday in our van without feeling the club has been taking our money all these months and we have not been able to benefit.

its about time the club remembers we are here for each other!!

I don’t know how many of you are considering buying site night vouchers. Just be aware that they now have an expiry date of 31 December 2021, read the q&a section on them. So just be aware if you buy to many you won’t have enough annual leave to use them.

Bit of a dirty trick changing from no expiry date to the end of 2021.

Luckily for me my membership was supposed to renew on 31st March so went on line and cancelled renewal, no point in paying for something you cant use. I will renew if and when I need a cl.

We did 216 nights on club sites last yearwink and hopefully will be able to do quite a few later on,,and to save 20% or just under, (depending how many puchased),  with the vouchers is quite a bargain laughing

Probably out of context.  We have “quote” , “report” and “quote “. Where is “disagree “. Just a thought to balance comments. Bet the Club would not do it. Easier to spin the subject without this choice
