Another CL Booking Bug.

Searching for a Cl near Tywyn Wales, I came across a site called The Meadows.

On the CC site page it states Overall site rating 5 ticks, based on 21 reviews.

I clicked on “read more reviews” and the first five were very good but when I click again on “read more reviews” I eventually realized that the next 8 reviews are for an altogether different site located in Devon!!

One of these 8 reviews was very scathing and only gave 1 tick. It would be easy for someone to think it was aimed at the site in Wales due to the CC website glitch.

How many more faults and bugs are in the system and what damage is being done to the CLs?

I am going to inform the CL owner in case they lose bookings as a result.

I think the whole website is an utter disaster. Looking for CL sites in Scotland (or anywhere else) is a nightmare. I've ended up using my laptop to do the map search and locate CL's and the iPad to check out the details of each site. If I use just the laptop (or iPad) after checking site details and clicking 'back' I end up right back at the beginning of the map search and having to reload a search for CL's only. If I was a CL site owner I would be seriously concerned about the difficulties members are having searching for sites. This isn't the first time it's been mentioned. I hope through the owners Facebook page they will be able to find some support - they aren't getting it from the CC - and neither are we.

I wonder how long its going to be before the Cl concept end up in other hands. I know the NFU are looking at it as they already provide most of the farming insurance. This web site disaster is only going to get more owners looking at alternatives.

This is totally inexcusable from the CC. The IT team (who certain CT members think we have no right to complain about) should be ashamed of themselves.

It is now some 6 weeks since this website was launched and still CL owners are being treated as an inconvience. Disgraceful.

in an earlier thread i asked 'should the club roll back to the previous version'....a typical 'disaster recovery' option....

i was pooh-poohed with comments like 'its only a forum, not an issue' and certainly not a 'disaster'.....

well, its certainly an issue (if not a disaster) for some CL owners, it seems....

i cant believe that the reviews arent attached to a CL using a unique key field, 'CL id' or similar....to assume the name field is unique is a pretty elementary error, as many are finding out....

identifying and trying to fix these data issues 'moving forward' will require manipulation by those familiar with the data itself, certainly not the IT dept, for sure.

that means it must be the CC staffers in conjunction with the CL owners, a huge task in identifying the errors and then manually correcting them....though i doubt there is any sort of user interface for moving reviews from one CL to another..

...which brings the task back to IT following a review by CC with all CL owners, as they (probably) don't even yet know the level of the problem....

also, does the club have the resources and, more to the point, the will to carry this out, while trying to firefight all the other issues that have been identified.

to that end, i cant say ive seen one improvemet in the basic navigation since this was thrust upon us, even simple things like where the log in takes you (incorrectly) hasnt been corrected after several weeks....so i dont see more difficult changes being made any more quickly...

in the real commercial world, this sort of fiasco just wouldnt be tollerated...

sorry, CC, but you need to up your game....

...or they could easily just become a CS with C&CC......

I hope not.

We left  C&CC because their CS's continually flouted the rules and were over booked. The worst being one near Nottingham that had over 20 units (included caravans, motorhomes, trailer tents and tents) for one Bank Holiday weekend.
