Another CL Booking Bug.

Searching for a Cl near Tywyn Wales, I came across a site called The Meadows.

On the CC site page it states Overall site rating 5 ticks, based on 21 reviews.

I clicked on “read more reviews” and the first five were very good but when I click again on “read more reviews” I eventually realized that the next 8 reviews are for an altogether different site located in Devon!!

One of these 8 reviews was very scathing and only gave 1 tick. It would be easy for someone to think it was aimed at the site in Wales due to the CC website glitch.

How many more faults and bugs are in the system and what damage is being done to the CLs?

I am going to inform the CL owner in case they lose bookings as a result.

Thankyou Rochelle. I hope the CLs which have lost all reviews due to the switch-over will also have their reviews re-installed?

Hi Brue,

This is also in hand, unfortunately I can't give you a final date but I will keep you all updated

Hi everyone,

I’m pleased to inform you that the problem with the Meadows CL reviews (and others similarly named) has been resolved. Each of the Meadows’ reviews should be showing correctly now, and the team are working on Greenacres next. Please note that these links need to be amended manually across the board, but we are working on them. This should be fully resolved by next week.

In the next release (which should be live by the middle of next week), we will also have fixes for CLs with similar names all appearing in the dropdown menu (all will now appear instead of just one) and the ‘search by facility’ function will be working correctly.

Hi Rochelle

Thanks You..

I am DELIGHTED that after more than 6 weeks, not only are these issues being resolved, but that some timeline is being given, and that we are (at last) being given some information about what is happening and when it might happen.

I'm amazed that these 'fixes' need to be done manually, and that it has taken more than 6 weeks to get to this point, but hey ho..

Unfortunately a number of CL's have seen a distinct drop in 'web traffic' and bookings in the past 6 weeks.   I can only hope that when this new website is working - as it should have done from day 1 - that bookings will once again pick up.

Perhaps the Club would make some amends by considering a little 'CL Marketing' to help us CL's pick up the lost business we have suffered in the past few weeks, and promote the CL's (like The Meadows) who have had the most issues via the Facebook 'Site of the Week' feature?

I hope that this unfortunate incident is now behind us and that the Club can concentrate on helping CL's to serve members and encourage new CL's to join the Club.

Please pass on my thanks to the teams involved.

I can confirm that the problem with the incorrect reviews being shown for the Greenacres CL has now been corrected.

I look forward to my reviews for the Greenacres Farm CL being reinstated which I understand will happen next week.

"A little CL marketing"  is not what you, or any CL owners, want at this time - believe me. Not until the web site debacle is truly sorted out, particularly - in my experience - the CL site search. I'm really pleased that your issues seem to be sorted but there are still others that haven't. The map search is near impossible to use. A CL site near us doesn't show on the map - does yours? On the regular search page if I ask for CL's near Oban - there aren't any...If I was a CL site owner I would STILL be seriously concerned.

Ha - now I know why there are multiple replies. Hit 'reply' & nothing happens (where have I seen that before), hit it again and two pop up, or four as I've seen in one case. If it wasn't so infuriating it would be funny. Get a grip CC.

VB I tried the map search, it wasn't easy, I realised that you can't tick both boxes for CC sites and CLs. Once I unticked the CC box I found the two CLs in the Oban area. I tried the conventional search via Argyll and Bute, Oban and the two CLs appeared, I didn't tick any facility boxes.

I would say it's half way to working but as yet not straightforward. And I agree with Ted, the CLs now deserve a bit of a boost.

Thanks brue - we had found, and booked, a CL site near Oban but it was a pain searching - and still is. Alice Street Farm CL, near Frome, doesn't show up on the map search but does on the conventional search. I prefer the map search facility and we're still looking for sites for our six week Highlands tour May/June. I'm not overwhelmed with confidence that I'm seeing all the CL's available.... Agree - CL's owners need all the help they can get at the moment - but let's hope that Alice Street Farm isn't the only one missing from the map. Somehow I doubt it...
