Hello Everyone

We were hoping you could help us out finding a CL in central Cornwall that allows dogs. We are looking at the start of July hence seeking early advice from those that have used the sites there before and staying 2 weeks so we can explore at our leisure rather than rushing around.

Any advice help would be greatly received and if it's near a pub even better.

You need to search this area and then use filters for dog friendly etc https://www.caravanclub.co.uk/certificated-locations/england/

At present if you use the new booking system CL searches are limited to the first twenty in your search area or a map search where you need to click on the CL names etc. It's difficult to recommend individual suitable places as much depends on size of vehicle, type of unit, ease of access etc.

If you can tolerate a site with 10 pitches (some grass, some hard) rather than a CL with only 5 then I suggest you look at the website for Camping Gwel an Nans.  The name is Cornish but the website is English. More details and reviews are on Pitch Up. Dogs are very welcome. The location is a few miles from Bodmin where Cornwall is broader and it may be that you are thinking of somewhere further west where both coasts are closer. In either case there is plenty of choice.

Could you be a little more specific around your preferred area please?

Cornwall is quite a big County, at least an hour from one end to other. If you have a dog with you, you might want to do some research on beaches and places to visit, as not all beaches and visitor attractions allow dogs, so you need to make sure where you stay has options.

Toynes House CL, just outside Fowey, is very nice, but depends on what kind of facilities you like. Beautiful stretch of the South Coast nearby, some good coves that are dog friendly and good for swimming (not lifeguarded though), plenty of interesting places to visit not far, including Lost Gardens of Heligan, Eden Centre, Mevagissay, Looe, Polperro, Truro around half hour away.

A more North Coast option is Venndown Farm CL. Close to Boscastle, Tintagel, lots of North Coast beaches. Has its own swimming pool. https://www.caravanclub.co.uk/certificated-locations/england/cornwall/camelford/venndown-farmhouse/

We have stayed on both and wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

Not sure if its central enough but Poole Farm CL near launceston is worth a look, this is a gem of a site. It is very popular but you can see availability on thier online booking system. Adults only but very pet friendly.

Nearest pub is The Pint and Post at St Giles on the Heath. Odd opening hours but proper pub food and great ales. About 15 mins on a bike  or 45min walk along the lanes.

Fowey CL is a good one, not stayed there personally but it's within walking distance of Fowey itself and all the local attractions, pubs etc and river strolls. https://www.foweycamping.com/
