OS map Grid Refs gone!!

Is there a good reason why the new Club Sites Directory is not showing OS Grid Refs?

Surely I can't be the only member who still likes to see exactly where I will be towing to?

Google Maps sometimes does not show the CL / field clearly. A pinpoint location with the OS map sorts that out. Or rather, it did.

A black mark for the CL dept at the Club. Could do better.

I have just put the document info provided by Metheven into a Google spreadsheet so any of you can view and sort by Grid Ref, by CL name or Postcode. For those who wish to use OS maps it may make it easier to find something you are looking for!

I’m really upset about this. The NGR not only helps when driving to the site but also enables planning before the visit to see what footpaths and other features are nearby. I use these details in choosing which site to stay on.

I don't recall co-ordinates being included in the handbook before the introduction of Sat Navs? We certainly just used to follow the directions. I gather Metheven has produced a list, another way of getting them is go to the Clubs POIs and download the CSV files (Garmin) and just open the file using Excel. All the information you need is there and you can sort and search the data.

I don't see any need for it in the handbook which I like some others hardly ever use.

If we arrive at a CL and find it unacceptable for certain reasons (which we have), we rely on the O/S map of the area to locate a suitable CL.

The handbook is then used to locate a nearby CL and then identified on the O/S map.

It will tell me if there are power lines, main roads or train lines etc in the vicinity.

I have also written to the club twice on the issue of Grid Refs missing from the 2019 handbook and have had no reply. This is very poor service.

In places such as mid Wales there is often very poor internet connectivity therefore finding the Grid refs on line is almost impossible. We also like to see where we are staying by using an OS map. Please reinstate the Grid Refs next year.

I'm a dyed in the wool Lat/Long man. My sailing background, I suppose.

No problem CY - Lat / Long is also on our website and on the pre-arrival emails which we send to our CL guests:
