Ability to chose hardstanding pitches on all sites

I want the club to look at giving members the option to chose hard standing or grass pitch on the sites where standard pitches can be either or.
This season I have experienced problems on a few popular sites whereby I’ve booked a standard pitch with awning only to turn up (at a reasonable time 2-3pm) to find there are only grass pitches left. With a 4.5 tonne Motorhome this makes me Cringe. With all the rain we’ve had grass pitches have been really soft and twice we’ve had to get off using mud runners.
I’ve also seen many other Motorhome sand larger caravans struggling to stop wheels sinking in or awning being like mud pools. There have been several reviews around on some of these sites were members have stated they’ve booked a std pitch with awning expecting hardstanding, as on sites that are all hardstanding, only to turn up to be told only grass left and these have been very wet and several not fit for purpose.
The sites that I experienced problems with and heard from other members that have major issues are, Tewkesbury, Hurn Lane, Seacroft, Hill Head and Gowerton. There are probably others.
I know some people like grass and that’s fine, but if that’s the case let them book them and let those of us who literally hate them cos they are not suitable for modern caravans or Motorhome chose hard standing.
I don’t even mind paying a bit more for hard standing but I do object to paying the same for a poor quality, inferior, soggy under sized grass pitch ( lots of these at Tewkesbury and Hurn Lane ) . It should be personal choice so give us that choice and I think you might find there’s a drop in bookings at these sites, perhaps that’s why you don’t put in in the information options.
Of course the best option would be to do away with soggy grass pitches and make them hard standing or at least increase the proportion of hard standing . So come on CAMC give us the option on all sites so that we’re all getting the same value for our money and not getting Stuck in the Mud which is we’re the club seems to be .

On our bank transfers there is a optional section to enter in who and what the account is that you're paying into. Do you not have that?

Yes but eighteen months down the line I'm scrolling down a list of payees on my system and wondering who on earth Joe Bloggs is having added him to my list when I had to pay for a CL. Adding a new payee requires several authentication hoops to jump through before you can even make the payment. Somehow fishing a few fivers out of a wallet seems the epitome of efficiency.

My online banking provides a choice of whether to save payees or not. Anyway, what's the problem with deleting unwanted ones on a regular basis? I thought ex-bankers would be well up on that sort of thing🤷‍♂️

It all depends on what details you put down. I'm not telling you but perhaps CL name and location would be a good idea?

Like TW said you can also delete?

As to which is more efficient, no one is telling you that either, choose whichever is better for you?

Well I pay by card for as much as possible - that includes for small amounts e.g. £1.20 for my eggs.  During Covid, even the market stalls have largely started using card readers.  There is one that hasnt because some of the markets he attends, he cant get a reliable signal for his reader - so still cash.

However, we normally use CLs and this year only one was paid electronically - and that was where payment was needed in advance.  Every other one, including the one we are going to on Sunday, has been cash payments.

I could pay by card at a site, but couldnt pay by BACS at a site. OH does internet banking, but only from home - no way of doing that on a site. I do telephone banking - works a treat.

If we get more and more electronic payments for CLs there will also be a tendency to want payment before arrival!  Be careful what you wish for!

What's wrong with payment before arrival?

I once suggested that on here, and got flamed. Yes say up to 24 hours before? I'd do it while travelling on the morning to the site.

Is that a hint of what's going to be?

I meant not the report button but reporting on here on who is liking who and you seem to be doing.

And btw no raw nerve touched here but maybe with you. Now I've cleared that up I'll leave you to getting this thread off topic and possibly closed I'll really leave it here. So have any last words you wish

Have another good evening now smile

It may possibly affect members on a tight budget who want to book time away in advance to coincide with school holidays/time off work unless of course it is a method of paying a deposit and paying the balance on or just before arrival.

I tried this last week JK, for a Club Site. No go. Club apparently don’t want payment up front, in case you don’t turn up. That’s the explanation I got. We had intended doing a flyer from Site, before office would be open, so offered to pay on phone🤷‍♀️ I was supposed to put Membership card through letterbox as well, but that failed miserably as the Club haven’t got round to sending our new one yet. But we could stay, and then someone would phone us to take card payment later in day.

Quite happy using digital card though, via App.👍
