Ability to chose hardstanding pitches on all sites

I want the club to look at giving members the option to chose hard standing or grass pitch on the sites where standard pitches can be either or.
This season I have experienced problems on a few popular sites whereby I’ve booked a standard pitch with awning only to turn up (at a reasonable time 2-3pm) to find there are only grass pitches left. With a 4.5 tonne Motorhome this makes me Cringe. With all the rain we’ve had grass pitches have been really soft and twice we’ve had to get off using mud runners.
I’ve also seen many other Motorhome sand larger caravans struggling to stop wheels sinking in or awning being like mud pools. There have been several reviews around on some of these sites were members have stated they’ve booked a std pitch with awning expecting hardstanding, as on sites that are all hardstanding, only to turn up to be told only grass left and these have been very wet and several not fit for purpose.
The sites that I experienced problems with and heard from other members that have major issues are, Tewkesbury, Hurn Lane, Seacroft, Hill Head and Gowerton. There are probably others.
I know some people like grass and that’s fine, but if that’s the case let them book them and let those of us who literally hate them cos they are not suitable for modern caravans or Motorhome chose hard standing.
I don’t even mind paying a bit more for hard standing but I do object to paying the same for a poor quality, inferior, soggy under sized grass pitch ( lots of these at Tewkesbury and Hurn Lane ) . It should be personal choice so give us that choice and I think you might find there’s a drop in bookings at these sites, perhaps that’s why you don’t put in in the information options.
Of course the best option would be to do away with soggy grass pitches and make them hard standing or at least increase the proportion of hard standing . So come on CAMC give us the option on all sites so that we’re all getting the same value for our money and not getting Stuck in the Mud which is we’re the club seems to be .

Then as I said go for whatever suits you best.

Personally since all this started I've found that I carry very little cash now and even getting cash now is a something of a mini chore with a trip to a cash machine/supermarket.

In fact as I think about it the only cash I have at the moment is the emergency £30 in my bike's panniersurprised

While touring I usually have a few hundred in the caravan and a couple of hundred in car glove box when we start out and plenty in my wallet.

Unlike ET we are not quite so worth mugging.😂 When we started at the beginning of September we had about £150. Still have most of it, although we paid cash for our pizzas, even that could have been done with a card.

I work on the principle that loosing a few hundred won't change my lifestyle. I remember, probably around 20 years ago, before the widespread Euro I was in Europe with a friend for 4 or 5 days. A common occurrence. We usually had a variety of currency for France, Germany, Holland, Belgium and a couple of others. Not a lot but enough for a meal and a few beers apiece. This particular evening found us in Belgium and lacking currency one evening. No worries I said lets find a bar that does some food. We found one down a backstreet with a strange mix of clientele, but interesting locals. Shady might have described it. I spotted somebody reading a large broadsheet, a bit like the financial times. I asked at the bar if they would exchange some currency which they agreed to. Took exchange rates from the other gent's newspaper and, as it made a nice round number paid around 7% commission which pleased the host. We were sat at the bar and I placed the equivalent of about £50 on a bar towel in front of us. He gave me several glances to say that was not a good idea. I quietly explained that we were likely to be there several hours. The money would go down in two ways. Some slipped quietly into my pocket and some on beer and food etc. I would have the equivalent of about a tenner left to pick up. If anybody in the motley crew wished to snatch the money they were most welcome. I also advised him that the young 'lady' he was chatting up was a fella.

More recently carrying cash has proved useful. When I reversed and knocked over a lovingly rebuilt motorcycle I unusually did not have money in the car but had £85 in my wallet. I think that, having got the owner to phone his dealer the parts were under £45. As he had done about 10 miles since the rebuild I reckoned that he deserved more for doing the repair work and he and his friend deserved a pie and a pint or two.

And while we're on that subject is The Black Boy still there and going strong or has it had to be renamed?

Excellent always sounded so exotic, well it did to a 18 year old Mr C. Our favourite pizza place was just beyond it on corner of Silver street and Lowgate.

A Saturday afternoon 40 odd years ago would have a been a trip to Sydney Scarborough's record shop then ran under the City Hall. Happy days. Last time I looked it in a hairdressers.
