Ability to chose hardstanding pitches on all sites

I want the club to look at giving members the option to chose hard standing or grass pitch on the sites where standard pitches can be either or.
This season I have experienced problems on a few popular sites whereby I’ve booked a standard pitch with awning only to turn up (at a reasonable time 2-3pm) to find there are only grass pitches left. With a 4.5 tonne Motorhome this makes me Cringe. With all the rain we’ve had grass pitches have been really soft and twice we’ve had to get off using mud runners.
I’ve also seen many other Motorhome sand larger caravans struggling to stop wheels sinking in or awning being like mud pools. There have been several reviews around on some of these sites were members have stated they’ve booked a std pitch with awning expecting hardstanding, as on sites that are all hardstanding, only to turn up to be told only grass left and these have been very wet and several not fit for purpose.
The sites that I experienced problems with and heard from other members that have major issues are, Tewkesbury, Hurn Lane, Seacroft, Hill Head and Gowerton. There are probably others.
I know some people like grass and that’s fine, but if that’s the case let them book them and let those of us who literally hate them cos they are not suitable for modern caravans or Motorhome chose hard standing.
I don’t even mind paying a bit more for hard standing but I do object to paying the same for a poor quality, inferior, soggy under sized grass pitch ( lots of these at Tewkesbury and Hurn Lane ) . It should be personal choice so give us that choice and I think you might find there’s a drop in bookings at these sites, perhaps that’s why you don’t put in in the information options.
Of course the best option would be to do away with soggy grass pitches and make them hard standing or at least increase the proportion of hard standing . So come on CAMC give us the option on all sites so that we’re all getting the same value for our money and not getting Stuck in the Mud which is we’re the club seems to be .

What's wrong with payment before arrival?

Depends on T&Cs.

Paying a deposit is one thing. Paying in full prior to arrival I find a PITA

It may possibly affect members on a tight budget who want to book time away in advance to coincide with school holidays/time off work unless of course it is a method of paying a deposit and paying the balance on or just before arrival.

I agree fully but I hope it means payment much nearer the time, as I said on the morning would suit me fine to speed up booking in.

But also keep the current pay at arrivals well so have it as an option?

If I could choose/book HS I’d pay full before I got there👍🏻

I assume as JK brought it up it might be part of the changes that are coming? And hopefully booking a HS will be one of them in addition.

Or it might be a hint about the earlier you book and/or pay the cheaper the prices?

I'm sure that will start a whole new collection of (complaints) threads the chap next door paid less than me, you paid how much I only paid...

It all depends on what details you put down. I'm not telling you but perhaps CL name and location would be a good idea?

Like TW said you can also delete?

As to which is more efficient, no one is telling you that either, choose whichever is better for you?

Insufficient space for more than the basic info. Yes, I can delete after payments made. It's all just more admin. Like I said "a few fivers is the epitome of efficiency". I'm all for tech that saves me time/money.

I quite like the final payment taken on the morning of arrival, as the C&CC do, although I noticed you could also tick pay in full if you wanted. It really speeds up check in over the CAMC, even with having to be shown to your pitch. The only problem I could see with flexible pricing is if you wanted to amend it closer to the date by adding additional days. If that resulted in the whole stay being repriced, that wouldn’t be good.

Then as I said go for whatever suits you best.

Personally since all this started I've found that I carry very little cash now and even getting cash now is a something of a mini chore with a trip to a cash machine/supermarket.

In fact as I think about it the only cash I have at the moment is the emergency £30 in my bike's panniersurprised

It’s a struggle to please everyone for sure. Time moves on & what was good in the last century is no longer fit for purpose in some cases🤷🏻‍♂️. I like knowing the HS/pitch is there & it has my name on it, if I don’t turn up it is not the problem of C&MC that is Down to me, my money is lost. If I pay for a service & if that service is taken away after payment or changed that is the providers problem I get my money back-black & white we all know where we stand. No ifs nor buts.
