I know a few members are like us and mix in a few none Club Sites into a tour. Thought I would open up a thread for folks to post website links to any nice sites they come across, that might interest others.

This one to start with http://www.thamesheadinn.co.uk/camping-caravan-sites-cirencester-glos.html

Just off A433 few miles from Cirencester, so ideal for Cotswolds area. Plenty to see and do in area, Pub is nice for food.

Moderator Edit:

This thread is for posting links and/or reviews.  Please don't use it to discuss the merits, or otherwise, of other people's choices.

Thank You.

This is another very unusual site in your area Corners. Very different, we loved our few nights here, as it’s very much the sort of place that appeals to us. Well organised, wasn’t too busy when we stayed, but popular with campers. Camping field is separate from van/MH field.

Great idea to share info of small sites.

A peaceful adults only @ Pickering North Yorkshire.   http://www.westgatecarrfarm.co.uk/  Felt ‘wheels’ are needed to reach town as it’s down a long single track quiet road.  Chickens do wander freely around the site.

I can second that recommendation.  We stayed there a couple of years ago, primarily to attend a friend's 80th Birthday celebration at the Forest and Vale in Pickering.  The site owners not only gave us a lift to the hotel, but also looked after our dog for the afternoon.

Just my thoughts - Hopefully the discussion will stay 'on track' as it's about sharing info of small uk sites.

Here’s another wonderful location. We used this site for some 15 years running, back in the 1980s/90s when it was a small family run site. We have lovely memories of this place, and indeed the area, which is a walkers paradise, and has some great tiny beaches provided you don’t mind walking to them. It’s moved on now from the site we knew, but we used it a couple of times in its early “new” days. It’s not cheap, although comparable easily with nearest Club Site, which is Looe. But the location is simply stunning. Those with large MHs will struggle though, this is an area of quaint narrow Cornish lanes and ferries across the River Fowey. The walk up from Bodinnick Ferry to the site is a lung buster, Fowey is quite simply gorgeous, with some good eateries and up market shops. It’s a yachting paradise as well. Etched onto our touring souls, it’s a place that draws you back time after time.

Herding Hill Farm is top quality (dare I say it puts CC Ltd sites to shame), but is not really small.

Not sure if we have seen this site while out and about, looks very nice. I like mixed offering sites, actual touring bit is only small. Good location, Hadrians Wall area needs more touring sites.
