I know a few members are like us and mix in a few none Club Sites into a tour. Thought I would open up a thread for folks to post website links to any nice sites they come across, that might interest others.

This one to start with http://www.thamesheadinn.co.uk/camping-caravan-sites-cirencester-glos.html

Just off A433 few miles from Cirencester, so ideal for Cotswolds area. Plenty to see and do in area, Pub is nice for food.

Moderator Edit:

This thread is for posting links and/or reviews.  Please don't use it to discuss the merits, or otherwise, of other people's choices.

Thank You.

Blame KjellNN and me then David. K commented that The Thames Head Inn looked good value but was confused about price and how many people were included in base pitch fee. One poster helped to clarify and I thought that I was being helpful by pointing out two different pitch sizes and related cost.

Well done on starting this thread, TDA.

The site you've linked to looks a cracker. I stumbled across this one in Herefordshire some while back but haven’t yet had the chance to try it. It looks good to me.

That looks really nice Tinny, and a great price.

I don’t mind folks commenting at all, and I realise that some of the sites that are posted won’t suit everyone, either from a facilities or pricing point of view, but I just found the Thames Head site whilst looking for an overnight stay for our trip to Dartmoor, and lo and behold the pub has a newly opened little site! We haven’t used it, but do know the Pub and it’s a cracking location, with some great places to visit not far away.

When we tour, we mix our sites, so we might stay on something really cheap one night, but something like Thames Head another. Our aim is for a nightly average somewhere between £12-18, so that we can enjoy lots of time away, but save for cottage holidays in between. I apologise if some of the pricing is a bit difficult to understand, but I suppose this shows how spoilt we are with Club Site booking system!😀 It doesn’t phase us, because I like to phone sites anyway.

Here’s another little beauty, far nicer than Berwick Seaview and a lot quieter. We voted it our site find of the year first time we used it😁

We passed the site near Wrexham that WN mentioned, it is indeed very nice.

There's a CL associated with this site, too, No.696 in the Site Directory. When we had a look a good few years ago it did need a good bit of TLC, but reading the reviews and the looking at the web site it appears to improved a lot.

Mentioned it before but;

Rosedale caravan park, Penley, Near Wrexham. Open all year.

Much better than the club site at Chirk, in my opinion. Adults only.

Agree with WN about this site.

My offering is a small site near York, which has no toilets but is all H/S and has free wifi, and there's a bus stop just along the road with a 1/2 hr service into the city...Cherry Tree Cottage

This a small South Somerset site which I've mentioned before. Just outside Martock, down a quiet lane with fishing on the river Parrett next door and an interesting reclamation business over the road. It's also near Yandles, a popular wood working and art suppliers plus three good NT properties, Barrington Court, Montacute and Tintinhull. Plenty of safe cycle routes in the area. The site owners are thinking about opening up a café and have a good caravan shop on site. Southfork Caravan Park LINK
