Well at least it was comparing two possible holiday destinations in the UK rather than "hijacking" it into talk of how much better it is overseas! wink

There’s an added frisson to staying in this country this year. Will the person on the next pitch be enjoying themselves, having a good time (as usually found)?
Or will it be someone enduring the pain and hardship of taking up valuable space, there under duress, counting the shekels that could get them some much more over the water, staring grim faced at the queue for the loos (assuming they do open)?

Its going to be a classic year for that time honoured holiday activity, people watching.......๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‚

Thinking about the anticipated UK staycation boom.  What effect do you think the non-availability of "shared indoor facilities" will have on site bookings?

Good post, but according to many posters on here wasn't the GCNP (grumpy camper next pitch) always there, even before before the great staycation?

Depends on the Site LLM. Proper campsites, with a good mix of outfits, mix of age groups, think they will be full. Club Sites? They might do ok, we use a lot that don’t have facilities and folks on these are used to doing their own sanitary arrangements, so they can and do get full. Those who have to use facilities, mobility issues, might not be in evidence as much. Depends on if they can compromise other ways, strip wash, serviced pitch? We did see a few toilet tents on some private sites last year.

We met a lot of motorhomers last year who started up conversations with "we're normally in Spain just now." Strangely enough they seemed to be enjoying their stays here and we are good listeners.... (But a lot of them had far too much equipment with them!) wink

Well I have noticed the pattern of orange squares keeps changing on a site I have been keeping my eye on but hard to say why other than it looks like cancellations!

R2B never met AD so he is hardly a buddy but i will keep any eye out for him when in Spain next. Most unlikely to meet him on a Club site.wink

If you mean the number. None.

There might be a few cancellations and a few late bookings, that’s all.
