It's good to hear that members of CT are receiving their vaccinations, good luck to all those yet to have theirs. It seems like a long haul till we get everyone sorted and hear the results of the present vaccines.

I'm leaving this open for non political comments as per the guidelines. Hope you can add your own experiences and thoughts.

My first jab comes up tomorrow, I'm so glad we have research institutions that have got us this far! And I am planning breaks away in the hope of improvements on the horizon.

I think its an experiment to see what happens. The group involved are young so hopefully wouldn't succumb to serious illness if they got COVID. I see what they are doing as a control measure. They confirm (by testing) that no one has it before they arrive and then test after the event. If, as they probably hope, no one tests positive for COVID they can evaluate the likely risk at such events with people in very close contact. If the risk proves to be minimal or even non existent it would pave the way for other events where people are in such close contact. That is the way I look at it?

I think it a question of degree. No idea how many attend such events but lets say 500. If they are all negative before the event and two test positive after the event it would seem to me that the event was not the cause. However if 50 tested positive it might indicate that something at the event caused the spread? We also don't know the instructions as conditions of attending. If after the event everyone reverted back to normal precautions the risk would be no more than it currently is. As I say I think they are trying to test how big events might work and the degree of risks. Going to a Nightclub is not on my list of prioritieswink

Installed the NHS App on our phones today and the record of our jabs is there in considerable detail. Since the information is there now it shouldn't  be too technically  difficult to add the "passport" we want.

Is that different to the Test and Trace App?
