It's good to hear that members of CT are receiving their vaccinations, good luck to all those yet to have theirs. It seems like a long haul till we get everyone sorted and hear the results of the present vaccines.

I'm leaving this open for non political comments as per the guidelines. Hope you can add your own experiences and thoughts.

My first jab comes up tomorrow, I'm so glad we have research institutions that have got us this far! And I am planning breaks away in the hope of improvements on the horizon.

David

Is that different to the Test and Trace App?

Had my second jab today.

The first produced an extremely painful reaction affecting my kidneys but only lasted a short time, 15 minutes or so, and then I was fine for the rest of the day (early morning jab). So I was interested to see how the second affected me. Happy to report I've had no reaction up to now including not a peep out of my kidneys (or arm). I've read that the second jab has less side effects and from talking to those that have had it it seems to be true.

I ignored the paracetamol advice the first time round but it definitely helped yesterday for the booster!

I took a couple of paracetamol a couple of hours before and a couple more about 4 hours after.  Had absolutely no side effects at all this time.  Don't know if taking paracetamol had anything to do with it (probably  not) - I'll never know for sure... 🙂

Snap! I had my second one today too. Good news you didn't have the reaction you had first time. Up to now, I can feel my arm is slightly sore when I lift or stretch it, but far from a significant ache.

I was wrong when I said that DIL had a vaccination appointment.  We met up  with them at DD's house on Saturday and she was saying she still had no date.  She turned 48 last Friday.  Rather worrying, especially as she is a teacher, in contact with multiple pchildren and other staff on a daily basis.

SIL was saying he has 2 children in one of his classes, 16 year olds, who have tested positive.  He is having twice weekly tests and so far is fine.  He is only 36, so has a while to wait yet for his vaccinations.

According to the imperial college biologist who is one of our local dog walkers with her  Lab puppy ,you would be in more danger and bad side effects when taking paracetamol. than any that is almost nil with any of the covid jabsundecided

To be honest, for me the second jab was only slightly better than the first, taking a few days to build up a few side effects so I've been glad to take paracetamol to take the edge off things.

It would be a lot more straightforward if there was a single track and trace App for the UK. Downloaded the one for Scotland, which stopped the one for England working,☚ī¸ then found I didn’t need it anyway as the English one works in Scotland and vice versa. The Scottish one doesn’t have the log into venue in any case, that’s a separate App, which I’ve now downloaded. Having Deleted User the Scottish T&T, I’ve managed to get my English one running again. Not sure the Scottish log in to venue will work at several of the sites we will be visiting, unlike the English version it doesn’t store the info on the phone but communicates it, which needs a 3/4G signal.
