Why? Most likely you are used to the queues at opening time rush hour, we arrive mid late afternoon all on our ownsome most times, never been in queue yet.

Good manners, how do you know who may arrive after you?

We are not into arriving on the dot of midday, or even earlier , so queues are not a problem for us, but it is good to be mindful of others.

Genuinely curious as to why both of a couple need to go and book in?

When we arrive at a site, OH goes in and books us in, she is perfectly capable of doing that without my help.  She knows the ropes, has the credit card etc etc, I stay in the car and am available to move the outfit forward if required.

Are we not talking here about how to be more eco friendly?  Was that not the point of the thread?

Is heating people in an awning eco friendly?

Yes, people can, meantime, do what they want, but I really cannot understand why anyone would want to sit in an awning if it is so cold they need to heat it!

Just go inside where it is warm and be more comfortable.

There are many aspects of our lives where freedom of choice has been removed. The vast majority of these instances are about H&S and the removal of selfishness which can directly or indirectly impact on others. Sometimes the 'Nanny State' does know best, it can protect us against the thoughtlessness and wastefulness of others.

I think we have a bit less of a carbon footprint in how we holiday with our MH, rather than when we had a caravan. Although even then we preferred using public transport, or walking, to using the car once on site. Now our tours are more linear, shorter hops, stopping on route both for shopping and sightseeing. Only rarely using the MH for visits from a site. We also have solar panels and have used it off grid, which we enjoyed and will repeat, particularly over there.

The MH also gets better MPG than when we towed. However, wether MH or towing, how you use your right foot can have a massive impact on fuel consumption and consequently the environment. Fuel is expensive enough anyway, I find it difficult to understand why some folk want to use more of it than necessary by being in such a hurry. We get very good fuel consumption at about 65 mph on the motorway and that speed keeps us in front of the HGV's. Yet the number of MH's that pass us at over 70 mph is not a small.

If there is a queue then it would be sensible for one to stay in the LV, or if both "must" go to book in , then both stay in your vehicle until you do not block others access, there was a real "classic"  at Seacroft when both occupants of an outfit went to the office , although there were three in front, they seemed completly oblivios that the next arrivals were unable to exit the main road until they moved, undecided

Doh! because I am already at the barrier so whoever comes in behind me makes no difference at all, would you like me to gate crash by moving forward.

Stretch the legs, have a nosey, see what's on offer whilst she's doing the business. Hope that satisfies your curiosity.
