Hi everyone,

I just wanted to let you know that some of you will be receiving an email from Pump King’s customer service to advise that Pump King has been purchased by Horizon Fuel Limited and will now operate under Fuelpecker.

Fuelpecker has listened to customer feedback and developed set discounts off the pump price which means guaranteed savings and therefore no more weekly fuel price text messages or variable savings. Fuelpecker has also expanded the network to include Shell petrol stations. In addition, the Fuelpecker set discounts are now available in Europe so you can save whilst travelling.

Your Pump-King account will be cancelled and your information will be securely Deleted User from Pump-King on the 17th February 2020. Therefore your Pump-King card will not work after the 17th February 2020.

To continue benefiting from discounted fuel, you will need to sign up for your new Fuelpecker discount card here: Fuelpecker

We hope you take advantage of the new benefits with Fuelpecker.  For more information and FAQs please visit the Fuelpecker website. smile

I agree with GMC, the new discounts are not as good. I use premium diesel and always make a considerable saving. I’ve just payed £1.311/litre against a pump price of £1.49/litre. Biggest losses with the new card will be on motorways. £1.69 compared to £1.37 at Scotch Corner in the not so distant past. I think the savings, even with the current card, have never been as good on standard fuel compared to premium.

Yes I do the same, the premium comes out similar to the normal forecourt price for std diesel which is worth doing.

]The new discount will vary if I read it correctly with the forecourt price. In Fort William our Esso station prices are often 3p per litre higher than the Oban Esso's price, although the tourists and locals get a discount when it drops to about Oban Esso prices on 2 days of the week but not I often visit Oban with work.

This means shopping between Fort and Oban rather than a fixed price, but will still loose out I feel.

I’ve just filled up with premium diesel for probably the last time on the Pump King scheme. I saved 13.8 pence per litre against the normal forecourt price. This level of saving is fairly typical for me and allowed me to get premium diesel at only five pence above forecourt standard diesel. I’ve been quite happy with that - but no more with Fuelpecker reduced discount.

This gives a indication of the reduced level of discount now to be given by fuelpecker against Pump King and what must have been agreed by CAMC  when we first allowed Pump King to be a Members OFFER

My Fuelpecker card arrived today. The covering letter implies it is still only usable at Esso stations. No mention of Shell. surprised

Guess i won't be using it much if correct.

Our nearest Esso is £1.31 a litre.  The one we normally use is £1.27 a litre and the one in the nearest large town is £1.26.  The one nearest to us and the one is the town are in opposite directions to the direction we normally travel.  Seems the discount is only good depending on the price charged by an Esso station.

Has anyone had trouble registering their new card. When logging on is says click on “Activate my discount card” I do not get this. All I get is a mob number and password entry form from which I have failed numerous times to enter password.

Even a password change request has now failed.

Our supermarket deisel is 120.9 (Sainsburys), 120.7 (Asda), 121.9 (Morrisons).  Our local Esso is 122.9, do with the 4p reduction by having the Fuelpecker card, makes it 118.9....  I'll be going with Woodpecker if the prices stay comparable....

David

Edit: Apologies! I keep calling it Woodpecker instead of Fuelpecker - that the third time I've done I now.....  I'll drink to that - especially if it saves me money!!!  😀😀 David.
