Absolute gem

Arrived after a long journey to find our name and pitch clearly marked on the board. Loraine called later to make sure everything was ok. We had booked originally for 4 nights but due to major car problems which had to be taken away on a low loader, we ended up staying on much longer than anticipated. Completely stressed out, Loraine calmly reorganised…even though it was Bank Holiday..and allowed us to stay put. A huge relief considering my sister was also having chemo at the same time. Don’t know what we would have done without her help. So grateful. Lovely kind lady. Spacious site, great views, nice local pub, Whitby on your doorstep. Looking forward to returning under better circumstances and maybe a spot on “Millionaires Row” 😜👏😘can’t wait

September 2020 Stay

Spent 5 nights here in September, the CL is very well kept, the grass kept well cut and Lorraine keeping the taps and waste points very well cleaned. It is a beautiful location, you just wouldn't tire of looking out over the fields towards Whitby with the Abbey and sea clearly visible. Bus route into Whitby and beyond from the village is very convenient and there are plenty of local walks from the site and a good local pub that serves a lovely Sunday roast. Great location for exploring surrounding local towns and villages, Goathland is well worth a visit. Lorraine was on site every morning cleaning and checking on guests and happy to advise or answer questions. Would definitely recommend a stay at this little gem of a site and hope we will be able to visit again in the future.

Wonderful site

We have just spent 6 nights on this wonderful site. Lorraine checks & cleans the fresh, waste & foul water points each day, checks that her guests are happy & is always helpful with advice. The pitches are cut between visitors with grass collected and the views of the Esk valley & out to sea are stunning. Easy access for Whitby, Moors & Sandsend/ Runcorn bay. Couldn't have wished for a better site & location.

Summer 2020 Staycation

We (very sadly) only had one night here as this loveky little CL gets very busy bookkings wise, so you need to book early. Its an all grass pitch site with EHU and several water points. Its very maintained and the owner marks your pitch on a board at the site entrance. The pitches are well marked with lots of room between them and they are rotated round so no one spot gets over used. There is a bus route right outside the site giving easy access to Whitby. Buses run every hour. For the more adventurous you can walk, or cycle (but remember its a long, steep hill coming back). We’ll definitely return to this little gem in the future

Simply brilliant

Fantastic views over rolling fields and valleys towards Whitby and the Abbey. Very well kept site and facilities. Allocated pitch on the blackboard made arrival quick and straightforward; followed by Lorraine’s friendly and informative welcome the following morning. The village pub is an easy walk and serves good wholesome Yorkshire fayre again with a friendly welcome. The site is well placed to visit the moors, the NYM steam railway and the coastal towns from Teesside south to Scarborough, all in easy reach. Simply brilliant. What’s not to like!,

A Gem in North Yorkshire

The site is a Gem in all sense of the word. Ease of access, peaceful, views, access to amenities, friendliness of owner, maintenance of the site, level pitches, the site has got it all. Now to the serious bits. Access the site from the Whitby side, if approaching from the Guisborough direction on the A171 continue down to the roundabout and come back on yourself towards Guisborough the road to Aislaby is then your first left. If going into Whitby use the park and ride parking in the centre of Whitby is difficult. If you have a liking for dressed crab then Sandgate Seafoods at 14 Sandgate Whitby are the best value for money. If fossil hunting then park in the Abbey Car park and walk to Saltwick Bay via the Caravan Holiday Park. In short this is a site not to be missed with access to the Sea, The Moors, The North York Steam Railway It is a site to which we will return, Thank you Lorraine and Frank for making us so welcome

Wow, what a view....

We only booked 4 nights, but wished we could have stayed longer.. We were lucky as we had a front row pitch, the view was stunning. The site is immaculate, all so neat and tidy. The bus goes through the village, we used it once to go into Whitby. The pub is handy, just a few minutes walk from the site. There are so many places to visit, close by, certainly a good base to stay.....

Superb,

Very clean site with fantastic views, very little levelling required and the grass is mown to perfection, local bus runs past the site with frequent buses to Whitby, Scarborough, Middlesbrough, the owner Lorraine is very helpful on the day we were to return the wind was blowing at 40 plus mph not wishing to tow the caravan across the moors Lorraine moved things around to enable us to stay one more night, this is a site we will return to,

Excellent CL site

We have just returned from our first stay at Abbey View CL site. It is a fantastic site, easy access, plenty of space, maintained to a very high standard, beautiful views and a very warm welcome. We fully recommend a stay at Abbey View, and we will be returning.

Fantastic!

Fantastic! One of the largest CL's we have ever stayed on. A really good footpath at bottom of site for dog walking. We saw hares and deer in the stubble fields next to the site. Well organised site with pitch allocated and very little levelling required. Very good value for money.
