A lovely part of the forest

The site was easy to get to and easy to get to from the main road but I wasn’t provided with the entry code to allow the gate to open within any of the communication on how to open the access gate until a fellow camper came to my aid. The pitches are allocated with your name on the board and instructions on how to park your vehicle. The walking and cycling opportunities from the site are great and there is a regular X3 bus service nearby will quickly get you to Ringwood and Fordingbridge, Salisbury in one direction or Bournemouth in the other. Like others have mentioned you can hear some road noise but it didn’t bother us at all and was quiet at night The £25 cost of the CL includes use of a clean toilet and coin operated shower for those that want it, TV point and 10 units of electricity which we found was enough. The charge per unit thereafter is currently 35p. Although the pitches are not fully serviced, fresh water and EHU points are within easy reach. There is one grey water and one black water disposal point. If you are staying over a bank holiday then there is a minimum 4 night requirement which may not be suitable for all.

A beautifully kept site. We will be back

The site is immaculate and perfectly located to explore the new forest and surrounding area. Fabulous dog walks and cycling routes direct from the site. Two lovely pubs within easy walk/cycle distance, and a great farm shop/cafe nearby too. The site is served by a regular bus service if you didn’t want to take you car/motorhome off site. Like others have mentioned you can hear some road noise but it didn’t bother us at all and was quiet at night. Highly recommended and we will definitely return for more visits.

Excellent

We reviewed the site on 27/08/13, shortly after it was opened, and again on 30/05/16, both as family caravanners and before it became adults only. As the site hasn’t been reviewed for a couple of years and we now motorhome on our wn, this review is from a slightly different perspective. This is a great site if like us you don’t want to drive off-pitch. The walking and cycling opportunities from the site are limitless and all can be linked to a café or pub. The regular nearby X3 bus service will quickly get you to Ringwood and Fordingbridge, which can also be reached on foot, or Boscombe, Bournemouth or Salisbury. These open up other walking and bus opportunities. For example, walking along the coastal path to Swanage and returning on the Purbeck Breezer 50 open-top bus via Studland and Sandbanks. You could just go to Sandbanks and visit Brownsea Island. You can walk in the other direction from Bournemouth or Boscombe to Hengbersbury Head and Christchurch. The X3 is a better way of exploring Salisbury than staying on the CAMC Salisbury site, which is miles from Salisbury, has no bus service to speak of and is poor for both cycling and walking. You could just chill out on the CL. Best to come stocked up but there is a Tesco Express, bakery, wine shop, fish & chip shop and ATM an easy and pleasant 15 mins cycle away in Poulner. Hockey’s farm shop is also a short walk away. The nearest supermarkets (Waitrose, Sainsbury and Lidl) are in Ringwood. The £25 cost of the CL includes use of a clean loo and coin operated shower for those that want it, TV point and 10 units of electricity which we found was enough. The charge per unit thereafter is currently 35p. Although the pitches are not fully serviced, fresh water and EHU points are within easy reach. There is one grey water and one black water disposal point. All sites have niggles and for us it’s car noise on Mockbeggar Lane but you get used to it and it lessens in the evening and at weekends. It would be a shame for this to put you off. The pitches are separated and screened from the Lane by a wide verge and thick hedge. Airview Farm is popular. If fully booked the nearby Furzehill Farm CL which is quieter and deeper into the Forest won’t disappoint but it doesn’t have a loo/shower or bus service and TV reception is poor. This NW quarter of the New Forest is a favourite of ours.

Great site, easily accessed and great walking

We have just returned from a week here, we have just upgraded to a Buccaneer which is longer, wider and heavier than our previous Bailey Pageant so wanted to go to a site that was easy to get to (not too many small roads) but still allowed us good walks and a peaceful site. The site was easy to get to and easy to get the van into - it was spotless, really well maintained and the shower/toilet block the same. The shower is 20p for 2 mins (or multiples of) but gives a good hot shower. The site was also level and bordered onto a field with cows/calves, it was great to see the calves running around. There is great walking in every direction, we walked straight out from the site a few times and as it is straight into the New Forest there are endless walks. Burley is close by and its not far to the sea. Richard and Julie were great - they were around just enough that if you needed something they were there but left you alone the rest of the time. Highly recommend if you want a clean and tidy small quiet site that gives a great base to explore the New forest.

A Great CL!

We stayed here for 3 nights. You have to pay a week in advance, but this does mean once you arrive it is really easy as you get given code for the gate and your pitch number is displayed on a white board. Really well kept CL, toilet and shower are clean and tidy (coin operated shower), all grass pitches which are well cared for and rubber matting is provided should you wish to use it. We enjoyed watching the cows, calves and chickens in the field. There is a little road noise in the day, but nothing too intrusive. Great location with cycle rides, walks, farm shop and pub very close by. I would recommend and would stay here again.

Sept visit 2021

Just enjoyed a 5 night stay at Airview Farm. Spotlessly clean facilities and good Covid sanitation. Very warm welcome from Julie. Stacks of info regarding local area. Great position for exploring the NF. Local farm shop/pub superb and within easy walking distance. The site is level with lots of footpaths which you can string together to make some great circular walks. Ours ranged from 5k to 8.5k but we only touched on the possibilities. We were lucky enough to be able to watch the new calves and actually witnessed a birth. Cannot recommend this site highly enough. We'll be returning in the Spring.

Lovely Peaceful Site

Just returned from 3 nights at Airview Farm. If you are after peace and quiet away from it all this site is perfect. Only 5 grass pitches all a very generous size. Lots of walks locally and the old beams pub just 10 mins walk. The owners are very nice and leave you to it. Check in is easy through a code locked gate and your pitch is on the whiteboard. We will be returning very soon.

Idyllic stay

We have tried several times to stay at Airview but alas it was always booked up. Now we know why, it is a perfect getaway being just a stones throw from open forest and Blashford Lakes. The CL is immaculately maintained whilst being informal. Perfectly situated between Ringwood and Salisbury, either visited by your own vehicle or the bus which leaves at the end of the road. We will definitely return again. Thank you Richard and Julie for your hospitality.

A Beautifully Managed Site.

We were lucky enough to stay for 8 nights at this delightful site. It has to be one of the nicest CL we've ever stayed on. The facilities have been well thought out and are spotless. It is ideally located in the New Forest. Richard and Julie couldn't be more helpful. We shall certainly be making a return visit.
