There aren’t many CL’s that charge £15 with EHU (at the time of writing) that offer typically what a CL should offer. A nice level field with well cut grass. Fresh water tap easily accessed. Clean toilet emptying point. Quiet location at night. Easy access to areas of local interest. Friendly owners. Ok, it does not have a toilet and shower block, but at the price what do you expect?
It’s easy enough to find. There is about half a mile of single track road at the end of the journey with lots of passing places, but other than that it’s easy to get to.
There is some road noise from the A11 but nothing too intrusive.
There is an adjacent field where the owners son lives in a chalet. The CL field itself is a decent space with hedges on three sides and some out buildings on one side. The out buildings need some TLC but are not a major distraction, especially if you park with them at the back of the unit.
There are 15amp electric points all round the field for the 5 pitches.
Owners are nice and friendly.
Easy drive into Cambridge and Saffron Walden. Nice 25 minute walk into the village where there are bus stops for the number 13 bus to you into Cambridge or Haverhill.
We had an excellent few days here and were surprised that this hidden gem was not better used than it was.
If you want a simple CL with no frills and have your own facilities you won’t be disappointed. If we were closer, we would revisit regularly.
Disappointing.
This site is easy to access and well sited for Duxford, Saffron Walden, Cambridge and the Fens. The grass was kept nicely and the site is mostly level. However, it is quite small and one side is extremely messy with old concrete sheds with felt roofs which are in poor repair and old metal windows, some of which are boarded up with timber sheeting and asbestos panels in a poor state of repair. Some of the photographs on the Caravan Club website are inaccurate, especially the one with trees in the center of the site. It appears that the CL was once in a larger field and that now has two caravans with what seems to be permanent residents.
Nice site near A11 Cambridge
We stayed here for 1 night in mid May '22. The owner was very pleasant & informative. Nice quiet little site.

Lovely Easter Break
Welcomed on site by Brian who was super welcoming!
Visited with our 2 young children who loved the open site to run around in the sunshine! Gorgeous surroundings and beautifully peaceful! Site was really easy to find and great location for visiting Duxford Air Museum which is a fantastic day out for all. Also visited the local town of Saffron Walden which has lots to do for children including the maze, gardens and park. Thank you Brian and Pamela!
Love this CL
What can I say we just love this CL. Only down point is the electrics are only 5 amp so you just have to be careful when you use what. We have been twice and will return again.
