Faultless

Returned to this site after years of travelling the country and Ireland visiting dozens of sites. It is absolutely faultless and right at the top of our list. The hosts, Dave & Lorna are helpful and sociable but leave you alone. The location is ideal for the whole Norfolk coast and the delightful inland market towns. The addition of Shepherds huts offers something for non caravanning friends. The facilities onsite are exceptional. The showers and toilets are spotless. The adjoining Lane a blessing for walking the dogs. We went just after the floods and the grass pitches were dry and hard. Price wise it is VERY reasonable and I liked the metered electricity. Very fair and how it should be. If I ran a CL, this is how I would like to run one. Excellent.

Barleywood - A fine site

We have visited Barleywood on multiple occasions and apart from being one of the best sites in the country it is genuinely value for money. When you consider the facilities 2 x toilets/showers, washing machine, kitchen, free wifi etc., £18 including electric/night is surely great value.

Simply The Best

This has got to be one of the best CL Sites in the country. Lorna and David are always very welcoming and maintain the site to a very high standard. The facilities are brilliant and always clean. The information hut is always well stocked with food to buy. The price is fantastic value and you won't get better value in the area. You will need to book well in advance, so plan ahead. The location is great for visiting the Norfolk coast. Pitches are very spacious, with a tap near your pitch. Thank you Lorna and David

Barleywood yet again

Another great stay at the fabulous Barleywood. From Lorna and David’s welcome every aspect of this dream sire screams quality. We must have stay here 20 plus times over the years and never tire of the place. Many times I’ve outlined Barleywoods facilities which are second to none. I believe this is one of the best value for money sites in the country. Site fees are £18/night which includes a £3/night electric allowance. Many sites could learn from Lorna and David’s passion for their site

Fabulous site

Good room to pitch, facing how you wish. Warm and helpful welcome from David. All grass pitches and our 7.5 motorhome might have struggled if it had been much wetter. The facilities are comprehensive with a lovely hut that provides washing facilities, washing up facilities, microwave and honesty box purchase of goodies such as ice-cream and local chocolates from a fridge with a freezer for purchase of ready meals. Lovely area to visit and we enjoyed great e-bike rides. Will definitely visit again.

Amazing find

A fabulous find, Barleywood CL in Norfolk. David and Lorna are excellent hosts. There when you need them, but not in your face. A washing up room that has a washing machine, tumble dryer, (charge for use) kettle, microwave, fridge and fridge freezer with milk, ice lollies and other goods for sale with an honesty box. Two shower rooms, with hand basin and toilet in each one. Again immaculate. There is a charge for using the showers. Again it’s an honesty box. Large grass pitches, that like everyone’s lawns are suffering with the dry weather. That’s not a criticism, but I read a review complaining about them. I am not sure what the site can do about the weather! You can pitch in any direction. No worries about being nose to nose on a site this size. EHU and water to each pitch. Grey waste can be piped anywhere on your pitch. Chemical waste disposal area. £18 a night. We have enjoyed it that much that we have booked for 2024! It’s hard to get in it’s that popular. PB

Beautiful site to watch the snow falling horizontally!

We came for a relaxing break and some dreadful weather gave us that opportunity! Not sure I’ve ever seen horizontal snow before, thanks to a strong easterly wind at the same time. But we were snug in our caravan at Barleywood. Their frig and freezer were well stocked with essentials (and treats!) so we had no fears of starving. The site is impeccably tidy, clean and well kept, with water and electric on each pitch. There were never more than 5 outfits on site, which was good for such a nice large field. Had a friendly welcome from David who pointed out the direction of sun during day (somewhat ironic that info turned out to be!). Barleywood is obviously well loved and well used. There are other cl sites along the same road but we didn’t notice many ‘vans on them, so that perhaps tells its own story. A little traffic noise during peak hours, but blissfully quiet at night. Well done Barleywood. We might be back- if we can find a space in your busy booking schedule!

Excellent

This was our third stay although the weather wasn't kind to us we thought maybe a few more hardstanding would be a bonus as because of the weather very muddy under foot and quite slipperey but on a good note the site was lovely and the owners was very nice the toilets and showers was amazing and very clean bit disappointed that you have to pay to have a shower but hay ho if that's what the owners want to do that's up to them but from a campers view you have to keep remembering to keep 50p to one side the added bonus is the little honest shop where you can buy lots of things Lorna & David are very nice people it goes to show how good the site is you have got to book miles and miles to get a place well done to you both see you again fingers crossed
