Feb 24 - Moho - 2 dogs

We stayed here last weekend. Beautiful site and we received a warm welcome with a helpful welcome pack. The facilities are great ie EHU, Elsan point, recycling bins. It’s a great place to stay and is near to many local attractions. We were in a motorhome so be prepared, it is quite a trek into the town. The town is very much a market town with some lovely shops - a lot of which don’t open on a Saturday as Tuesday is their big day. However the town is lovely and there is a great sculpture trail around the town and the wharf. There is a good network of public footpaths around but there are many stiles and these are not dog friendly (fenced or boarded underneath) and so you will have to lift your dog over - we ended up quite filthy due to the paths being muddy and having two medium sized dogs. The dingle is a short wooded walkway at the bottom of the ste, it runs alongside a stream and was very pleasant.

Lovely site, owners very helpful,a very quiet and peaceful site.My only problem was transport, I was in Motorhome and I have slight mobility problems.

Cannot believe they have no taxis around Ellesmere and there are no buses that go past the site so I was disappointed that I couldn’t get around too much, because of my mobility issues. I’ve still given an overall 5 stars because I loved the site and area

Just peaceful!

If you're in this area this is the place to stay. We were visiting local NT properties and we found this site was just what we wanted. Our weather had been attrocious but the pitch was firm and level. Thanks to the arrival pack and app we found a good restaurant & deli. My apologies for reversing off your pitch onto the grass; I'm sure it will recover!

Peace and quiet

A warm welcome received on arrival with a very helpful information pack. Lovely surrounding countryside and nice and quiet. Close to Ellesmere/ Oswestry and othe places. Ironworks at Oswestry well worth a visit. Good telly reception. Internet was a bit in and out but you’re not here to spend time online and can’t blame anyone for that. Would stay again and thank you

Lovely Stay

A lovely site to chill & relax on. Unfortunately the grass clippings drove us bonkers as our 2 dogs & ourselves, and the motorhome interior were covered in them . As former CL owners we always had a grass collector on our mower to avoid this problem..

Very Special

Spent a glorious fortnight here … wonderful and well run site. Exceptionally safe for children and pets as a considerable distance down a private lane. So much to see within half hour drives in various directions. Ellesmere has all one requires in terms of Co-op, Tesco, butchers, deli, pet shop, post office etc etc Very good distance between ‘vans. WiFi worked well for us. Very happy to recommend.

Birch hill cl August 2023

Very pleasant 9 night stay. Ian and Janet very welcoming with good area information. Lovely views of countryside. Plenty to do in the area and the Mere was beautiful. Would certainly come again.

Lovely CL in a peaceful setting

My wife and I have just returned home after a peaceful couple of days at Birch Hill. It was our first visit and certainly won't be our last, as we came home suitably refreshed. Ian and Janet made us extremely welcome without being overbearing, and explained everything that we needed to know in a precise, understandable manner. All in all a great experience, and a big thank you to Ian and Janet. Many thanks, Les and Angela

A good basic CL

The site is a good sized irregular shaped field. There's plenty of space and despite the slopes there's sufficient 'flat spots' for everyone. For wet weather there's "grid under grass" hard-standings, although one pair of these felt a little close together (just need to be mindful of separation when setting up) and a couple of the spots were more "grid under weeds" than grass. Electric and water points are distributed around the site so you really can choose your spot. Views are good from the top of the site. There's free WiFi, although signal strength was somewhat lacking in one part of the site. Waste disposal and recycling are to an acceptable standard. Booking online was relatively simple, however be prepared for your inbox to be exercised - I received 12 emails and a number of texts as a result of this booking. Several of these emails related to local area information, the site owners are obviously keen to see that you have as much of this as you might need, including an information pack on-arrival.
