How a traditional CL should be

We had a super peaceful nights stay here. Like campsites of my childhood-a tap and emptying facilities. All you need. Very friendly owner who makes delicious ice cream. Only sound at night owls hooting. Perfect location for visiting Culross which is a stunning village. Easily walkable if you have the time. Road down to the site is a bit bumpy and easy to miss off the main road. Recommend this site to anyone who wants peace and quiet in a beautiful location and who likes traditional style cl’s. Loved it

Another great stay

Another great stay at this site. These are a dying bred of sites that are cheap at £8 a night and should be used to keep them in circulation as the next trip we were planning on going on wanted £40 a night and I would rather stay here. No electricity, but you don’t need it, especially with the lighter nights. Made very welcome as always on arrival, picked a spot up the top to look down on the estuary. Lovely walk down through the bottom road out the farm to Culross. Red Lion not to be missed for food. They make their own ice cream on the farm as others have said and currently Sunday markets take place on Culross village green where local producers have a lovely selection including the farms ice Cream. Photo of site doesn’t do it justice as once through the tress it really opens up. Water and waste water facility. New toilet emptying facility at bottom of site.

Great value and location.

If you can live without electric hook up and a toilet this little site is great it’s ideal for visiting Culross which is just a short walk down the lane. Very peaceful and run by very nice people who also make there own ice cream. £7 a night is a real bargain they really could charge more we loved it.

Great value and quiet

Love this site as it does just what you want it to do at £7 a night. Owners very friendly and welcoming. We stayed 2 nights last weekend and only us and one other van on the Friday and the place to ourselves on the Saturday. Very quiet and still, and one night a Barn Owl flew right past the front of our van, which was great to see. The field down from the site at a few cows and horses including a Clydesdale when we were there and it was really nice to watch them when we were sitting out in the evening. Depending on where you pitch on the site you can see the sea. We pitched at the top of the site and could see over the field to the sea and a even better view from our over head bed. As others have said, lovely coastal walk to Culross, walk down to the main road (not the road you come in, path to Culross signposted from the site), cross over at the gatehouse and there is a coastal path all the way. Had a lovely meal in The Red Lion on the Friday which has a beer garden out the back and also sells the farm we were staying on ice Cream- Nelsons of Culross. You can see the diary herd in the fields that produce this. The fife coastal path and Pilgrims Way pass through here and are good walks/cycle with a lot of this off road. We went to Limekilns on the Saturday (about a 10mile cycle, with some bits on back roads due to diversion round the MOD station). Then had a nice walk along the water, small pretty harbour and 2 pubs for food The Ship Inn on the front or sitting slightly back The Bruce, both very welcoming and nice to sit outside and watch the world go by. You can see the 3 bridges from Limekilns and large container ships going up and down the water from Grangemouth, small beach also on the sea front. Will defiantly go back to this site as its so cheap especially for a quick weekend away. Don't need electricity, you have a tap and can empty your loo, and for what this site offers in terms of peace and quiet, no road noise, wildlife around and a easy walk into the village, you cant beat it. Many thanks for a really enjoyable stay

Small quiet site

This is a small quiet site tucked away on an un tarmacked road so take it easy! The site is uneven so you will need chocks/ levellers The waste disposal and water are adequate and the site provides good value for money There is a nice walk to the village of Culross and ther site provides access to the Kelpies and Falkirk wheel

Tucked away CL

We stayed here to 2 nights to visit both the Kelpies and the Falkirk Wheel. Access is easy but also easy to miss and the approach road is not tarmacked so slow down. The water and waste facilities are rustic but usable. On the southern side of the firth is Grangemouth refinery which emits a background hum 24/7. If not for this it would be very quiet indeed. The nearby village of Culross should not be missed. No spoilers - go see it Visiting the Kelpies: The first car park is free, the nearer one costs £4 for the day. At Falkirk Wheel: Amazing piece of engineering. Parking is £3.50 / day.

Nice little site

We used this little site for two nights to visit Culross, which is a very pretty village and about 25/30 minutes pleasant walk along the lane and the coastal path. The site does what it says on the tin, it has fresh water and a chemical disposal point. We were the only people there so it was lovely and quiet. We had a very good TV signal and phone and mobile signal. Would definitely come again.

Great little sire

Great little site, a real gem. If you want peace, country sid3 greT walks and bike rides this is the place to come. Only 5 mi s from the village of Culross which is well worth going to. Lyn is very helpful and her home made ice cream a bonus. Will be back to this one.
