Lovely site and very peaceful. Access road very good and Gosforth a 20 min walk away with shops, pub ATM etc. We didn't go in to the pubs so can't comment on what they are like. The site is very well drained and it was windy when we stayed but the site is very sheltered so no problems at all. Very spacious site and HIGHLY recommended.
We really felt away from it all on this site, with its wonderful views of the mountains, and its neighbouring sheep fields. There was plenty of space so we were not on top of each other even when all five pitches were occupied. The owners were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The field is situated away from the house so there is a walk up to the two toilets which are located in outbuildings, but this was not a problem. Easy access to local attractions such as the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway and a very pleasant dog walking beach at Drigg. Also there is an excellent bakery in Gosforth village - we recommend the sausage rolls and custard slices! We will certainly stay here again next time we are in the Lake District.
