LAKELAND GEM

We have spent a great week on this fabulous site, I whole heartedly agree with all the previous positive reviews. The only negative is that we could only stop the one week. A truly perfect CL with the most welcoming owners we look forward to spending more holidays on Karen and David's wonderful site.

Excellent

Lovely site and very peaceful. Access road very good and Gosforth a 20 min walk away with shops, pub ATM etc. We didn't go in to the pubs so can't comment on what they are like. The site is very well drained and it was windy when we stayed but the site is very sheltered so no problems at all. Very spacious site and HIGHLY recommended.

Lovely CL

Bolton Hall is a former stately home, located on a very quiet country lane between Santon & Gosforth. I found it to be a very peaceful and relaxing place. The owner is very friendly & laid back, and made me feel very welcome. The best feature for me was that there are lots of quiet and scenic cycle routes nearby e.g. Easdale valley. It is walking distance to Gosforth village, where there are pubs, restaurants and a well stocked shops. The site has grass pitches, but they seem well drained, so even though I visited in February, it was easy to get on and off the pitches. I loved it and would like to go back.

An impressive site

We really felt away from it all on this site, with its wonderful views of the mountains, and its neighbouring sheep fields. There was plenty of space so we were not on top of each other even when all five pitches were occupied. The owners were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The field is situated away from the house so there is a walk up to the two toilets which are located in outbuildings, but this was not a problem. Easy access to local attractions such as the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway and a very pleasant dog walking beach at Drigg. Also there is an excellent bakery in Gosforth village - we recommend the sausage rolls and custard slices! We will certainly stay here again next time we are in the Lake District.

Wonderful everything that a CL should be

The site is a lovely rural idyll, when we were there complete with spring lambs. The access was easy and well maintained leading to good flat well drained pitches. The owners are extremely welcoming and friendly. It really is an excellent site all round.
