Peaceful site with all facilities, hard standings a little challenging

The location is peaceful, on a quiet country lane, and we appreciated Jo Davies' advice by text on which route to use. It was good to have a well maintained toilet block which also had the information area inside (the exterior would benefit from a repaint at some point), and other facilities, including well organised recycling, were nearby. On this occasion we chose to put up our awning (particularly as it is brand new) which we therefore needed to pitch on the hard standing, but did find the ground very hard to peg into, especially with so much recent dry weather. We were not welcomed on arrival but happened to meet Jo later for a friendly and helpful chat. Frodesley is about 6 miles south of Shrewsbury, where the nearest supermarket is Sainsburys, but at least this is on the southern edge of the town, as is the park and ride. Journeys to Wroxeter and Attingham Park were also easy, without having to go through Shrewsbury, and Acton Burnell with its castle makes an interesting local walk.

Excellent find

We stayed here for 4 weeks in September. Jo & John couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and were within easy driving distance of all that we wanted to do in the area, walks, towns, wild swimming, heritage sites etc. We enjoyed spectacular views from our pitch across to Lawley & Caer Caradoc Hills. The shared shower & toilet facility were basic, but spotlessly clean and with lashings of hot water!!!! Will definitely recommend it and we will definitely be returning. Occasional noise with passing agricultural traffic, but it is a farming community.

Autumn Stay at this Lovely CL

Firstly would recommend following the SD/website directions to the site which is the best route to the site. Some of the local roads are narrow and not suitable for caravans. The site entrance is wide and access is good. The five hardstanding pitches are spread down 2 sides of the site, and vary is size with grass between, but are plenty wide enough for a van or motorhome, they are also pretty level. There is also an area of grass with fruit trees in front of the pitches. Easy access to water, together with an easy to use and clean cdp, and there is also is a useful info room with leaflets and maps. There is a clean toilet and shower if required . There is a gate from the site which leads to a walk around the field edges, this makes a useful dog walk. There is plenty to do in the area, Shrewsbury and NT Attingham Park are worth a visit, we also visited NT Carding Mill Valley and Wenlock Edge. The owners were friendly and helpful and we look forward to visiting this site again soon.

Must add the site WiFi also worked well, a welcome bonus.

2nd short break

This is the second time that I’ve stayed at this CL site. I booked up at relatively short notice, but Joanne was most welcoming. This time the site was full, but I still had plenty of room to set up. I managed to take a train trip using the Heart of Wales day ranger from Shrewsbury and I voted Powis Castle.

More than a CL

We booked this site for a visit to the Polar Express in Telford as it wasn’t too far away and was hard standing, ideal for a winter break. Pleasantly surprised to receive free excellent quality WiFi, better than any of the larger sites we’ve ever been on. Be prepared for over a mile of single track roads on approach as it is farming country. Helpful toilet and shower block on-site too and great recycling facilities. Very friendly host

Peaceful CL site

I arrived at this site on a Monday afternoon. The entrance was easily accessible from the road. All the pitches were on level ground and hard standing. The waste disposal and recycling was in one corner of the field. There was also a shower and information point but I did not use it. During my stay I managed to take trips to the heart of Wales and the Wirral. The weather was good which also made for a nice short 3 day break. It is a place I would return to.

Peaceful and friendly

Mrs Davies was very welcoming and friendly. The site has 5 clearly marked pitches and a decent shower and toilet. It is in lovely countryside with walks from the campsite. Also in a good place for sightseeing being near to Shrewsbury and only half an hour or so from Ludlow, which is a beautiful town and well worth visiting with a lovely castle. Fab for foodies too. Lovely area.
