A true port in a storm

We arrived in Leyburn and a real squally storm blew up, we telephoned and the owners said a place was available. We arrived and all Janet the owner was concerned about that we were comfortable and pitched for a good nights rest. A real port in a storm and we were so grateful for it. Brookfields Farm is located in the village of Harmby, one and a half miles from the market town of Leyburn. The site enjoys amazing views across to Middleham and up into Wensleydale. Harmby boasts its very own waterfall, a pub called the Pheasant (a real trip back in time here) and there are some beautiful walks too. Leyburn has two supermarkets, shops, cafes and pubs. The Wensleydale Railway has a working station in the town. We cannot recommend this CL more highly What 3 Words ///hails.collides.resurgent

Lovely Peaceful Stay

This site is a gem, beautiful surroundings and views. A lovely friendly welcome by hosts who are on hand to answer any queries and provide local information if needed. Walking distance to a friendly welcoming pub and the stunning Harmby waterfalls. Close to bus stop. You can also walk to nearby Leyburn. Would highly recommend this site.

Lovely CL

Great CL, well maintained and very peaceful. Lovely welcome from Janet with some information on local walks, how to get to the nearby waterfall and play park for our little boy. Level spacious pitches with EHU included, spotless toilet, only stayed 1 night this time but will definitely book again.

Great CL

What a great CL this is. Beautifully maintained and so much to see and do in the area. We booked for 1 night and stayed 3 and will definitely revisit as still more to do. Fantastic walking, a pretty waterfall just up the road and Leyburn only a 30min walk away for a Co op and a choice of places to eat and drink. Friendly owners who have nailed it as to what a CL should be , 6 good sized hard standing pitches with lovely views. For perfection the only possible improvement would be a drive over grey waste point for motorhomes but that is being picky! £20pn incl EHU. Thank you Richard for a great stay

A Lovely CL

This is a most delightful CL, tucked away in a quiet corner of Harmby. The owner takes great pride in its maintenance, especially the mowing! There are lovely views across to Middleham. The owners took time out to show their animals to our three year old granddaughter which she loved - it is touches like this that make a CL special and memorable. The location is great for Swaledale and Wensleydale and can be strongly recommended for longer stays.

Beautiful site with lovely owners

Well, we eventually managed to book this site after they were fully booked the two times beforehand that we had tried. No wonder, super site, friendly and helpful owners and splendid views over lower Wensleydale to Middleham and it's castle. Pitches well spaced with a view. Two water taps and grey water disposal one at each end. Well made chemical disposal point, proper sink in a metal housing at the right height with a lid. Just the job. Recyling. Clean well maintained toilet as well. Info posters in lobby with visitors book (sorry forgot to write something in so distraught to leave!). Lovely walks from site and Leyburn in walking distance. Stayed for 5 nights, would have stayed longer but no room! Tenants Auction house is worth a lovely short walk to the lovely cafe or even the bistro! The site is good if you want to take non campers with you as they have a self catering flat. (It has access via an external staircase to the balcony) with patio doors overlooking the view.

Lovely CL looking over to Middleham Castle

We return to this site 3 or 4 times a year. The CL is clean, tidy and very well maintained. There’s a footpath walk right outside the entrance and another in the village that takes you to Leyburn through fields and road side walking. The area is very interesting and the weather is dryer than the North West. Janet and Richard are very welcoming hosts and always have time to chat with us. A nice place to spend a few days.

February weekend away

Great CL site, entrance and access is easy, pitches are hardstanding, reasonably level. Facilities for chemical waste, grey waste, and recycling all together well thought out clean and accessible, there is a Toilet on site, again very clean and tidy. Location is great for exploring the Dales, views from site look over towards Middleham, nice short walk to local waterfall. We will certainly return

An excellent site - location, facilities, and owners

Brookfields Farm is an excellent CL in every way. Only recently re-opened, it is set out with hardstandings, all offering open views of the dale across to Middleham, though this does require the caravans to be pitched with the fronts facing that way. The site is at the end of a short lane at Harmby, a pleasant village just off the A684, with a spectacular waterfall and gorge tucked away behind houses, far enough from the main road to be quiet but giving easy access to Leyburn. It is great for cycling as lanes lead away from the site, through Spennithorne to many villages towards Bedale without the need to meet main roads. Being recently rebuilt, it has a smart modern barn which includes a very good well maintained toilet ( a luxury we haven't had on a CL for three years) and a services area almost up to club site standards. Janet was always around and made us feel very welcome. At £16 per night it was very good value, providing everything needed for a CL.
