We stayed at Brooklands for 5 Nights, it is a very nice quiet little site apart for some road noise, owners were very welcoming and considerate.
On arrival it was easy to find and the start of driveway is clear with notice board, first part of driveway was ok but there is a 90degree bend with bank on off side and hedge on near side, although I took a full swing with front wheel of car on the bank the near side of caravan (8m x 2m) scrapped along the hedge, thankfully no damage.
There are a number of apple trees to contend with all with low branches, my wife had to hold back branch so it didn’t scratch caravan.
There is only one old fashioned outside brick toilet with no other facilities i.e for washing, that said we would stay here again for a short break.
The fishing was ok, lake needs a lot of work to remove fallen branches, over hanging branches etc and with the number of trees around lake my guess is there will be a lot of fallen leaves in bottom. To start with I fished method feeder on the bottom with no bites, I guessed the fish couldn’t see the hook bait so I changed to a pop up on 3” hook length and finished day with seven good size carp, weighing in around 8lb each, not bad for a cold frosty January.
Lake is normally closed for winter but the owner allowed me to fish while we were there with caravan.
