So Peaceful

Just spent 6 extremely peaceful relaxing days at Burn Farm. A very warm welcome with friendly owners. Couldn’t wish for better, hopefully I will visit again.

Great site

Stayed here for 4 nights at the end of April 2021. Sunshine but cold wind. Great site with very easy access from main road with electric security gates at CL entrance and good facilities. Large and mainly flat field so no problems setting up. Mandy is very friendly and helpful. Ideally situated for Bude and surrounding area. Thoroughly recommended.

An autumn idyll

We booked for October half term week and chose Burn Farm for its proximity to the surfing Mecca of Widemouth Bay. We were not disappointed by either the site or the surf and found many other interesting and scenic spots nearby, whether for walking or visiting. Mandy was welcoming and helpful in arranging the best pitching for us given the stormy conditions and this meant we were sheltered and able to sit in the awning daring the weather to do its worst. Although it was the end of October the temperatures were still well into double figures! Our little dog enjoyed the woodland walk and we enjoyed the spectacle of the resident roe deer stag who did not seem to mind us invading his patch. A delightful week not at all marred by the stormy conditions. Thanks Mandy!

beautiful and tranquil setting

what a gem of a site ; lovely welcome on arrival, nothing too much trouble for Mandy (owner), given a great spot to camp in our motorhome, very private site with good access to all the usual Cornwall hotspots - we visited Bude, Padstow, Tintagel, Port Isaac etc., good woodland dog walk on site, we were lucky enough to see a baby deer on 4 occasions as he came across the campsite at roughly the same time each evening. Although the weather wasn't great over the 2 weeks of our stay we did have quite a few days of sunshine and made the most of them by staying on camp in the sun. We will certainly be back and can definitely recommend this beautiful campsite.

Peace and Quiet

Mandy and Brian were very friendly and we were able to obtain some lovely tomatoes from them. As a working farm I was very pleased to note the boundaries are well marked and the site is situated in its own sheltered field complete with wooded area which is ideal for dog walking. This site was ideal for us, peace and quiet is becoming more and more hard to find and although situated on a working farm, we would not have known if we were not told. A short drive to Bude, (Morrison’s and Lidl Supermarkets). Widemouth Bay is nearby if you take the short route to the coast. Access is very easy with a good mettled road from the B3254 to the site. Excellent “Dark Sky’s” location complete with owls. We are looking forward to our next visit, a real gem for anyone who wants a “no frills” site. Highly recommended

GLAD WE RETURNED AGAIN.

We were so pleased to return to one of the best CL. sites we have been lucky to stay on. This was our forty time at Burn Farm and it was so good to find the standards so high. We were welcomed by Mandy and after a chatty catch up , we set up in glorious sunshine. Unfortunately , the previous few days had been wet and caravans who were there before had not applied common sense. There were tracking ruts in the centre of the field. Not clever. However, with the sunshine and light winds, it all soon dried. Burn Farm is so convenient to so many of North Cornwall's beautiful beaches and attractive countryside. It's only a few minutes drive into Bude where most of essential shopping can be done. We enjoy the peace, beauty, and warm welcome of this site so much and only wish that we could visit more often. Many thanks to our hosts.

Another fantastic stay!

Another fantastic stay on this site!!! Just come back from our summer holiday here again enjoy so much booked for next year! 7 pitches in total 3 of which are hardstanding only 5 ever in use. 2 grass pitches usually recovering so always well spaced out! Dog walk a bonus and kids played football and rugby outside. Owners have always offered a warm welcome and a friendly chat when we crossed paths either at the water tap or on driveway. Local dairy farms sell milk so do enquire as to where to go. Recycling on site is always a bonus. Site is surrounded by hedges and trees we noticed traffic noise until about 9 then it died down. Tv reception is excellent not that we watched much! On arrival we were given a local information pack which was greatly appreciated!!!! Children enjoyed Bude Carnival and other local events. We enjoyed sitting out listening to the Barn owls at night and watching the bats flying about. Access to site is excellent as being a working farm roads are wide. Site Access is monitored by CCTV so security is excellent! Tesco will deliver to shopping to here and a retail park is only a stones throw away in Bude. Local garage on Launceston Road sells most things too. Homeleigh garden centre is just down the road and is currently being extended! We found the fish and chips from Kilkhampton excellent as well as Francine’s in Launceston. The food from The Old Wainhouse on A39 is to die for. Site does sell fresh homegrown produce when available!!! Must be good as we always missed out! Grass on site is always well kept and clippings removed. Although dogs were on site including our own we never actually saw any mess as a waste point for it is provided. Always had a friendly hello from other visitors. Site does state pay on arrival and this unfortunately how lots of CL’s now have to operate due to unscrupulous fellow caravanners! Arrival time on site is 12 noon and departure is the same which is again how most CL’s operate. We endured wet weather and high winds our first week as long as common sense is used and the same spots not driven on the site copes well. Site seems popular as it had a few visitors whilst we were there. We had morning sun on the side of the van and then in the evening sun in the awning which we enjoyed. Noticed site has regular long standing visitors as last years companions were back this year! A really nice family site with excellent access to the surrounding area! Excellent value for money definitely one not to be missed!!! Owners always on hand if there is a problem. Keep threatening the wife we are going at Christmas so we can see the legend that is the Bude Tunnel of light!!!

A Fantastic Two Weeks!!

We've had the best time here. Thank you for everything! Can't fault your location that's so close to Bude, the clean, tidy spacious site itself, the price per night which includes everything anyone could ask for ( dogs, awning, ehu, free wifi, shaded woodland dog walk ). We would recommend this site to anyone & would love to come back here in the future

Brilliant site

We stayed for 2 nights in our motorhome. The site is very easy to find and Mandy greeted us when we arrived. There is so much space between pitches, we were on the hard standing which is great. The grass is mown and collected with a lovely walk through the woods for our dogs. This is a great site excellent value for money and we will return.

Well spaced fab site!!!!

Well just come back from spending 15 days at this fab little site! Although it consists of 7 Pitches there is only ever 5 vans on site, we were down on pitch 7 which meant the children had a massive expanse of field to play on as the nearest van was up on pitch 4. We had the dog walk right in front of us which was ideal for us, children could take dog out as well as we knew they were safe. Site access is excellent and facilities well laid out, from pitch 7 could walk through woodland footpath up to chemical disposal. Bude and Launceston are only a short journey away. Cornwall at War and RAF Davidstowe Museum's both within 30 mins are a must visit. Boscastle and Tintagel are both close by we found best to visit late afternoon. Mandy and Brian welcome you with an information pack for the surrounding area very handy includes discounted vouchers. Fresh Produce onsite for sale subject to season. Recycling done on site all clearly marked. Notice board with local events very handy. Even with the torrential rain we experienced the site was still firm under foot. Some road noise but nothing to disturb. Children loved hearing the cows first thing in the morning and the owls at night, seeing the bats and deer thrilled them no end!
