Fantastic

If your looking for manicured lawns then perhaps this isn't for you but if you like farm architecture, long walks in open countryside and wildlife with added peace and quiet then Burnham Wick Farm might just be what your looking for.  Burnham on Crouch is an easy walk either along the road or the sea wall.  Toilet and shower in the farm buildings, EHU, recycling and info room.  No wifi but I was able to tether to my phone.  I'm really impressed with Martin and Adrienne's methods of farming, looking after the environment and its wildlife. Thank you for the privilege of allowing us to stay.

A pleasant stay

This is as it says a very friendly, no frills site. It is a working farm with access to all areas. The owners and locals using the stables were very friendly and happy to talk. It is a pleasant stroll into town either along the river bank or along the road. The facilities were very clean but basic and shared with the stables and farm staff. We would not hesitate in returning. D&J

Peacefull Site !!!

Just enjoyed a peacefull 7 nights on this site, this was our first visit and we will definitely be returning. The owners were very friendly and helpful and the pitches well spaced. Plenty of great walks for dogs and great for horse lovers. all for only £10 per night

Our favourite CL site

The title says it all!  This site is just wonderful.  It ticks every box for facilities, views, friendly owners, walks and things to do.  We sat yesterday evening watching the horses and as dusk fell we were entertained by the young owls learning to fly.  This morning we have just watched a hare running across the field next to the site. We highly recommend SGT Peppers for a steak or burger and The Curry Cottage for an Indian, sit in or takeaway, in Burnham.  Take a walk along the river path into Burnham and enjoy a coffee overlooking the boats bobbing about on the Crouch.  This site is one you will visit again and again.

Another happy visit

I could eulogise about this place ad infinitum but on reading previous reviews, including one of my own from ages back it would just be repetition. Our motorhome is not the smallest at 7.2 mtrs but access and entry are easy. If you like quietude and nature then this place has to be high on your list. Highly recommended.

Perfect peace!

We stayed here in May for 4 nights and it was the perfect start to our fortnight away. So peaceful and tranquil. The walks from the site along the sea wall are beautiful. There is a very useful information static caravan which will tell everything you need to know about the area and facilities. The toilet/shower are basic but clean and the shower is actually very good once in! Mrs Smith couldn't have been more helpful. I would love to return again - just sad it is so very far away from Devon!!

Oh how peaceful!

One of the quietest sites we've stayed on, being at the end of a lane about 3/4mls outside of the village. There are lots of wild life around the farm, in particular hares and the flocks of Corn Buntings that frequent the fields beyond the site. The owners have gone to a lot of trouble in making walks with information boards around the farm as well as a full stocked information caravan. The small town of Burnham has a Tesco and a Co-op as well as a number of pubs and coffee shops, and all are within walking distance of the site. The friendly owners were a mine of useful information about the area, one we've never visited before. With EHU, a toilet and shower the site is great value at £10pn. We will not hesitate to return when were down in Essex again.

Delightful site

Unfortunately we only had 2 nights here but would have liked much longer - we will be back. As other reviewers have said , the abundance of wild life is amazing. Our dogs had the most wonderful walks. The owners are most friendly and helpful and the information caravan is excellent. We loved their approach to the environment. it is well worth a walk around the farm to see the llamas, pigs etc.

Peaceful

Our first visit to this CL hopefully it won't be our last. Lovely welcome, beautifully peaceful site, surrounded by horse paddocks which also entertain wonderful wildlife. Hares, swallows and all manor if birds including a heron, sadly we didn't see the barn owl despite having ringside seats. Lovely walk into the town of Burnham on Crouch, either along the seawall or by the quiet road you drive in on, you can make it a circular walk using the seawall and road., about 3/4 mike each way. Onestop shop for supplies or Coop or Tesco further out the other side if town. Plenty if pybs serving food or places to stop for a coffeand cake. Tasty fish and chips from The Jolly Fryer, award winners, which we ate sitting overlooking the river in a balmy evening.  Lots more walks directly from the site. Great information caravan with plenty of advice. We went to recharge our batteries and enjoyed glorious weather, except for a very damp Tuesday, and we've certainly recharged. A quiet site with everything you may need close at hand. I would add that the black waste disposal is a fair walk from the site, not an issue even if you can't carry it far as there is plenty if room to drive (motorhome too) to it. There us an clean toilet and shower should you require them next to the chemical disposal point. Great clearly labelled recycling and environmentally friendly approach to farming and power generation.
