Basic no thrills site.

We had a problem finding the site as it is across the road from the Golf Club , towards Burstwick. The staff were very friendly in the bar/restaurant and gave us directions. The food was well priced and good. The site is large with reasonably short grass. Fairly level. The road noise during the day and evening is intrusive. There are no bins. There is toilet disposal and fresh water. The view is of wind turbines and farm land. The club house is easy walking distance. The following comments are more to do with other '?members' than the site. On the first night we were the only occupants. On our return there was a massive motor home right in the middle of the field leaving us just enough room to hitch up and pull out. It got worse, a VW camper van arrived and pulled up in front of our caravan meaning that now I would have to swing my van 90 degrees before hitching up. We now had the ridiculous sight of 3 vans all in about a quarter of a a 1.5 acre field. They thankfully left the next morning, leaving their toilet tent pegs in the ground as they couldn't remove them. If you have a camper van with no toilet, no cooker and no water don't use a basic site and allow your kids to get washed with the drinking water tap. Rant over.

Stay in county setting with Hares & Deer! and then play Golf!

Great basic site, very neat and easily accessible to the Burstwick Golf Club who serve good food. As it was a Tuesday the restaurant was closed, but we were recommended to the Camerton at Thorngumbald whcih is good and near the Puall Holme Strays Yorkshire Wildlife Reserve. Site in easy access of Spurn Point Nature Reserve. No electrics so be prepared, but it was wonderful watching in the dusk the Hares playing and the deer! It was midsummer night with a full moon! Disposal facilities & fresh water, but no bins or recycling facilities. Very easy check in and entitled to discount in the bar and restaurant. There are showers & toilets in the club house but understand only for members use. Golf Course excellent so sure we will revisit.
