Pleasant stay

Quiet stay at rural site. Pitches spacious - you could go wherever you please. Owner had plenty of extension leads too. Water handy, chemical waste and EHU. Enjoyable stay

This lovely site should be on everyone's camping bucket list

I stayed for 4 nights,  originally booking 3 but it was so lovely I decided to make the most of it and booked an extra night. The owner, Helen, was very helpful and I noticed she welcomed everyone as they arrived. The site, which is well laid out, is sheltered and set among several beautiful mature oak trees making it a mini parkland. I look for sites that provide a variety of good walks from the gate and in this Casthorpe House Farm did not disappoint. A short walk along a minor road either way takes you to a myriad or walks involving the Grantham canal, which is painstakingly being restored, the old ironstone railway and the Viking way, with many more options in between. Most, of the walks are easy with a range of distances to suit the majority of ramblers.  The landscapes are delightful and if picnicking is not your thing, the weather turns or you just fancy a pint there are pubs along the way in most directions. A most highly recommended CL Thank you Sue, Treacle & Tenby

What a Gem!

Stayed for 2 nights en route North. What a fantastic CL. One of the best we have stayed on. Lovely meet and greet by the owner and helpful advice regarding surrounding area. Brilliant canal walk for dogs about 300 yards away and a nice walk to the pub up the canal for a lunch. Can not recommend this site highly enough, the owners should be very proud of their CL it is in our opinion one of the nicest rural settings you could wish to stay on. Peace, tranquility and chillax! lovely site

Lovely site, well maintained and peaceful. We only used it for one night while visiting an elderly friend, just after lockdown, but we won't hesitate to using it again.

Lovely site.

Second visit and just as good as I remember. There is not a resident caravaner at the entrance, it is a lovely peaceful CL. The walks will keep you busy for some days, just loads of footpaths everywhere. You will get a warm welcome...........I will always use this Cl when I am in the area.

Nice peaceful site

We stayed for 5 nights and enjoyed the peace and tranquility. The site is secure and secluded and quiet, it’s easy to find and access is good. The arrival is excellent and we enjoyed our stay very much. Two points: the grass was very very long and this would have been an issue had the weather been wet. It was cut while we were there but as it had got so long if needed double cutting and some work to bring it to standard. Secondly, there’s a resident caravanner near the entrance who has a lot of junk outside his van which detracts from the first impressions. Overall a nice site which met our needs and we enjoyed the stay.

We didn't want to leave..

We stayed at Casthorpe House Farm for 2 nights and were absolutely delighted with this CL and the local area. We were given a warm welcome and offered a OS map of the area to borrow for our stay which was very useful. The field is lovely and quiet with mature trees and plenty of birds flying around them and the stone farm buildings. There is a canal with good tow path very close by which was excellent for walking along and we found a lovely canal side pub with an abundance of outside seating where we had a delicious lunch. We would definitely return to this site if in the area; we didn't actually want to move on as we felt there was more to see and we were enjoying the tranquility. Thank you to the Smith family!

lovely site

We had 7 days at this site and after a warm welcome where we lent a ordinance survey map of the area and told of all the local places of interest. The field is well spaced but we had to turn our caravan or would have been looking at a caravan storage area but once turned we had pleasant views of fields and far away hill. The site was clean and we felt secure with the secuity gate. There are many places of interest within a 45min drive and we didn't qiuite see everything during our stay. We would certainly go again as we felt this small part of Lincolnshire offered more than we excpected.

Great site

We booked for 3 nights with friends for last week and ended up staying an extra night. Great location for a lovely site although it was rather muddy underfoot - but hey, it is February! There are 5 well positioned hard standing pitches but not big enough to park a car alongside the caravan, we had a bit of an issue driving off the grass after 3 days standing, but it's that time of year - what can you expect?!. Helen is lovely and very accommodating, providing an extension cable and a local map for the duration of our stay. The site is beautifully clean, and very well located for absolute peace and tranquility - the perfect place to get away from it all. We found lovely off road walks with our dogs, especially over towards Belvoir Castle, passing -and calling in at - some very good pubs. The Dirty Duck provided excellent food and drinks, the butcher in Barrowby is very good too - great ribeye! There is a Coop about 1.5 miles towards Grantham for additional supplies. Thanks Helen, we will be back!
