Chalked farm extrodinaire

We stayed here for six nights and we're very impressed with the site facilities and especially the owners. Having been involved in an accident on the way down our caravan arrived via green Flagg. We were reassured by Keith that he would get us back on the road and sure enough even in the pouring rain on a Sunday morning he repaired our tow bar etc so we could continue our holiday. Thank you again and he took time out to help us with out reward even though it was the height of the harvesting !! Cannot recommend them highly enough.

Lovely site

Stayed for a few nights whilst touring the south of England. We had a lovely welcome from the owner who gave us a useful information sheet and explained how to get to the nearest villages on foot. The site is very secure with a coded gate to get in and out. The shower and toilet block was well kept. There is an extra charge for electricity and also showers, but we found we used less than £3 for our three days, so it is very economical. The walks to Warbarton and Barnham are along a cycle/footpath, which keeps you away from traffic. Great pub in Warbarton where we had Sunday lunch and Barnham has a railway station with frequent trains to Chichester, Portsmouth etc.The fishing pond was a short walk away, but my husband enjoyed this too. All in all, a great little site that we recommend.

Lovely couple of days here.

Enjoyable stay here late June 2. Good instructions Friendly owners on the working farm. But very peaceful and only a small number of vans allowed. We walked to Barnham (10-15 mins) one evening and Walberton the next. Similar distance. But there is a cycle path to walk on so it’s safe and enjoyable. If you enjoy rural, you’ll enjoy Choller Farm. I certainly did.

Enjoyable Stay

Easy to find , good access (handbook forewarns you of short driveway , wait on road on arrival , walk across and enter gate code -open gate-drive in when clear ) dead easy , no problems . Plenty of room on grass pitches , again forewarned of EHU meters and card system , again dead easy , no problem spent about £2 a day (springtime hence cold nights) . Well positioned for getting around , loads of places to visit . Local village has both Tesco and Co-op and railway station , so beware rush hour it's very busy . Only niggle (very minor) loos and shower room nice and clean just needed duster thru cobwebs in roof . Would definitely recommend and will re-visit myself.

Nice stay

Nice place, plenty of room for caravan and awning, if on road side a bit noisy with traffic, but better on field side, the only down side was the electric meter, never been on site like this before and told when booked about £1a day so arrived on Saturday set up and by Monday had used nearly £5 so turned off all except fridge, used radio just for hour in morning and tried to not use phones to much so did not have to charge them every day, got that sorted, fishing was short walk through field lucky took trolly with me, but nice friendly people nice fresh eggs and a lovely pub in walking distance, so a lovely week stay,

My favourite CL

Tracey and Keith are lovely people and the sites facilities are always spotless. The site is huge far bigger than most CLs. The view from the pitches is lovely you really feel like you are away from it all even though I am only 45 minutes from home. The grandkids love spending time there as they can see the animals and last year Tracey took them to see the lambs and they loved it. My Husband likes to fish and the lake is so beautiful and tranquil and there are big fish too. See you in the spring.

Beggars Belief !

Booked four days at this site in January. The hard standing, toilet block, shower and fishing were the main reasons for choosing Choller. What a disappointment! Nobody there to greet me, apparently the owners work during the day so a fellow tourer told me where to pitch and explained how the electric meter system worked. Due to the bad weather 5 vans were crammed onto a very small hardstanding area leaving only 2 or 3 metres between vans. Both toilet and shower blocks were nothing more than garden sheds with no heating or hot water in the loos. Whilst the loo pan was clean the rest of the room was covered with many cobwebs in every corner and on the inside of the doors. The electric is a meter system which runs faster than a London Cabbies. If I choose to use the shower room I would also have to pay extra. So more like £15 a day with the extras. Not such a good deal in winter considering the poor quality of the facilities. I currently pay £12 for a club site with spotlessly clean heated loos and hot water, but hey ho, I still had the fishing to look forward to, (£8 extra for two rods). However the day I arrived my 85 year old mother was unexpectedly admitted to hospital. I advised Tracey I may need to leave early subject to her condition. To my astonishment all she cared about was making sure I payed in full for the 4 days booked whether I stayed or not. How heartless! Unfortunately my mothers condition deteriorated the next day so I decided to leave immediately. A little tip for you Tracey, I know you are running a business, as you delighted in telling me, but a little more pragmatism and understanding would have resulted in future bookings from me as I am a keen fisherman, however, Your intransigence and couldn’t care less attitude to my unfortunate circumstances 'beggars belief' so I will not be returning.

Comment from the Club:

Many thanks for your review and we are really sorry to hear that your mother was admitted to hospital and hope that she has recovered well.

The CL owners have been in touch as they work hard to ensure everyone has the best possible time on their site and as such they would like to address your concerns to avoid any confusion and misunderstanding in the future.

The pitches are 10 metres from the next caravan so it should hopefully haven given you plenty of space on site. The site inspectors are happy with the spacing of pitches on the site.

The toilets are cleaned every day and although there is no hot water they do have running water, toilet paper, soap, hand dryer and air freshener. If you have any concerns about the cleanliness of the toilets please do speak to the CL owners about this as they will be happy to help. The shower has hot water as well as underfloor heating. This is charged at 20p per 2 minutes. Both buildings for the shower and toilet are insulated, painted and tiled inside.

All information regarding charging for electric and shower is communicated to guests before arrival and a confirmation email is sent out with information about the site and arrival, advising that if you have any queries you will usually find the owners after 4pm weekdays and all-day weekends on site but if you have any concerns on arrival and they are not home to please call the CL owner with the mobile number given. WiFi on the site is free for guests.

They do advise that all nights booked will be charged and this is in their booking T&Cs that are sent to all guests. On this occasion they were fully booked and had previously turned other potential guests away for the nights you had booked.

We hope this helps clear up any confusion and explains why they charge for all nights. It is not unusual for any site to do this as they need to be able to ensure they cover costs to make it a viable option to run the site. Thank you again for taking the time to leave a review.

Nice site, great fishing, friendly owners

Just spent a week here and found it to be a great site. Large level field with hard standing options. Grass well mown. Friendly helpful owners. Enjoyed fishing at the lake a short walk away. Good position for nipping to Arundel or Chichester. Useful to have a shower there. Thank you Tracy and Keith, sure we will be back.

Very Helpful Owners

Nice little site with good access to local attractions, although approach road is very narrow. Extremely helpful and friendly owners. One downside was the cleanliness of the toilets, which could have been better.
