A wonderful CL

CL's vary from dreadful to wonderful and this is one of the wonderful ones! Its a good sized mangaeable sloping grass field with lovely views, with a shower and toilet about 75 yards away by the farmhouse. Its no longer an organic farm, so blue toilet chemicals are ok. The owners are often out and about on the farm, so make yourself at home when you arrive and leave your payment in envelopes provided in the shower/toilet before you leave, if you dont see them. Very quiet.

Very peaceful site

Just back from a lovely 4 night stay here. The field is on a slope, we parked sideways on and needed about 2 1/2 -3 inch leveling blocks. There is a shower & toilet in the main building of the farm which is clean & useful. Access roads from the A69 can be a bit narrow in places, but there is little traffic to worry about. Visiting Hadrians wall other places of interest is all very close and easy to get to. The peace and quiet here is perfect for us and we would recommend it if you like the quiet life. Sitting outside the van on an evening having a glass of wine watching the birds and the world go by just perfect. We will return.

Gem of a site .

We received a warm welcome on this lovely CL . The grass was mown regularly and the clippings picked up . There was a shower and toilet which was immaculate . Splendid views and the next door field full of sheep and lambs .I have no hesitation recommending this site for visiting Hadrians Wall and other attractions in the area .

A nicely set up and maintained CL!

Take a field with a tap, electric hook up, and somewhere for your waste and you've summed it up (there are showers and toilets but we didn't need to find them). What that doesn't tell you, that you are in stunning countryside with views in all directions. The site is on a slope so you need to be able to level your van in all directions, so bring your ramps and blocks. This is far enough off the beaten track to make you feel that you are in remote spot, although its not the quietist of places with all the farm activity around you, but what do you expect in the countryside! We arrived in a torrential down pour, after the previous 2 to 3 weeks of 2013 sunshine Sad there wasn't anyone present on site or even near by when you arrive, so after some discussions with other caravanners who were equally bemused about what you do when you get there, we pitched the caravan and got down to enjoying a great few days Cool- ideal for getting to Hadrians wall and the various sites along it. Far enough from the A69 to be quiet, but not too much of a drama getting your van to and from the site. We do enjoy CL locations more that the big club sites and this was great and laid back; but maybe some prompts or instructions, just letting visitors know to just pitch up and sort things out later would be good (or to ring up to confirm arrival) - we got soaked wondering needlessly up to the farmhouse (which are holiday lets inc the showers and toilets) trying to find someone to tell we had arrived. But don't let put you off, its a lovely spot and and a great little siteSmile. By the way the B6318 is an awesome road to drive along, you really do feel like your driving along the top of the world (in straight lines!).
