Lovely site! Would stay again!

We stayed here for 2 weeks and we encountered no problems whatsoever. We were given a warm welcoming and some local information upon arrival. There are brilliant views from all pitches on the site. Easy access and short distance into Barnstaple and coastal towns. Amazing value for money and we would 100% return next time we are in the area. You can hear the A39 from the site but it isn't an issue as due to the distance it isn't very loud. Thanks for a brilliant stay!

A real gem of a site

This is a lovely site, beautifully kept with very good facilities electric hook ups, water, hard standings on each pitch with good grass areas between. Toilet available although no shower. The pitches are ideal for sitting out looking at the amazing views. Nice seeing the Alpaca's although sadly only two now. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Barnstaple, Bideford and the Tarka Trail at Fremington are all very close to visit, although you may want some form of transport. Would definitely stay there again.

Great Site

This is a beautifully kept site, owners very friendly. Views are fantastic over the valley and river estuary. Serviced pitch with electric and water, grey waste into the hedge. Would recommend this site to anyone. Thank you for a lovely stay. July 2022

Better than expected.

Nearly didn't go as reviews weren't brilliant. It was a lovely site. Directions were really good. Access was OK. Hard standing (almost level). Water and electricity to each pitch. Gray water drains into the hedge. Welcome and instructions attached to pitch number. Clean toilet and washroom nearby. Beautiful views. Quiet site. Could faintly hear traffic on the A38 There was an adjacent field that looked like it could be used for camping so perhaps could be noisier in the summer. Linda was very helpful with info about visiting Lundy Island. Was good value. stayed 7 days.Would stay again.

Beautifully kept site with stunning views

We were almost put off booking this site because of the reviews about difficult access and noise from the wind turbines but it's ideally situated for visiting Instow, Appledore, Barnstaple and beyond so we're happy that we gave it a go. The access to the CL has been widened and we had no problems. The hardstanding pitches are level and adequate, although not generous. The whole site is very neat and tidy with stunning views over the alpaca paddock, the River Taw and beyond.. and so quite exposed to the weather. We heard no noise from the wind turbines at all, they're really not close by at all. There is constant road noise from both the A39 and the 60mph B road along which the lorries go backwards and forwards to their depot nearby.. it didn't bother us but it did mean walking from the site was a risk we didn't want to take. Not particularly keen on allocated pitches but it wasn't really an issue. I'm sure we'll visit again

Another lovely stay at our favourite site

It was lovely to be back at our favourite site and, being November it was very quiet and peaceful. Absolutely love that the pitches now have their own taps and waste can be run off into the hedges, reducing caravan jobs to a minimum and leaving more time to relax and enjoy the views. Care does need to be taken when getting in to and off the site but the owners are happy to come and help with that if you give them a quick ring. Enjoying our usual favourite haunts - Westward Ho beach, Burton Art Gallery at Bideford (the Parc Cafe at the back is great) Instow Beach and Crow Point. Just the break we needed before the run up to a busy family Christmas.

Shame about the entrance

Although this site has beautiful views and is in a good location, for us with a new 8 foot wide van the entrance was off putting and we ended up worrying about getting off all week, especially after the motor home next to us caught one of the pillars on the way in. Pitches where fully serviced with great views but as they have other fields with camping and caravanning on it was pretty noisy.

Extremely difficult access, unfriendly owner and noisy.

Owner was quite sharp on the phone when we confirmed details. Exceedingly difficult access for a long unit and we ended up using the mover. It wasn't helpful when some old boy poddled along half-an-hour after we'd already pitched to try to tell us how we should have got in which apparently involves driving forwards and backwards until you manage it! His comments were totally irrelevant by then. Pitch had been marked with a board and envelope with just surname. Not very friendly - more like being in some institution than a CL. The information sheet put in with the arrival document mainly listed fish & chip shops and eateries. Would have been much more useful to provide what other sites do, i.e. details about local doctor, vet, caravan accessory shop, supermarkets, etc. as well as the eateries. Very noisy from the nearby A39 and windmills. Very exposed to prevailing westerly winds. No obvious dog walk except along the tarmac farm track and no nearby public footpaths. Beware the narrow road at the farm entrance as large high-speed lorries speed along it. Not recommended.

Beautiful site, lovely owners just a little road noise.

We stayed at this site during September 2021 and it is a stunning location. Owners are very friendly and welcoming, leave you to get on with your holiday but are always around if you need to ask any questions. Lovely views and only 1 mile from the Tarka Trail. Instow and Appledore are so lovely to visit and the Glorious Oyster (Instow) does some simply great lunches. Greylings fish & chips and Fremington quay cafe are also worth a shout. We definitely will return. Keep up the good work Linda & Ian.
