Ease of arrival/welcome

Lovely location, very friendly and helpful owners, sloping site

The site owners, Lionel and Alison, were very helpful and attentive at all times, and very conscientious about Covid 19 precautions - we arrived two days after re-opening. I was sent plenty of information and guidance by Alison before we stayed, and Lionel was on site to meet all of us as we arrived. The location behind the working watermill is lovely, and Crakehall is very attractive with its large village green, though it carries a let of traffic going into Wensleydale. Bedale is a delightful town, access being exactly as described, through the fields or on the good pavement by the A684. The only limitation of the site is the slope. We managed to chock up one side of the caravan and almost got it fully level, but every pitch has some issues with the slope, especially for motorhomes. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the pleasantness of the site and area compensated for the slight difficulty in pitching.
