Could be so much better....

Needed a place to stay (originally for 2 nights), first impressions not that good to be honest. Welcomed in by the owner who pointed out where to park then left us to it. Wasn't advised where the showers were or any info really. The shower, as already stated, is like a supersize green portaloo and there's only one so not ideal if they were ever busy. We parked in the field facing the hedge as it's quite uneven....to the left of us was what can only be described as a building site. Wouldn't have been so bad if that was fenced off. All in all, the place was a bit scruffy with dogs running around and dog mess on the grass. OK for one night (thank goodness we didn't pay up front for two) but won't be returning.

Never to Return

An industrial toilet that has been converted into a wet room, animal faeces all over the site, small pitches for motor homes with little room. Caravans on poorly drained field. Difficult to find site. The only good point is that the views were very good

LAte Feb Visit

What a lovely place to visit. will be brilliant in the Summer with the views and animals, chickens etc. Nice to watch the trains go by in the distance at night. Not too far to walk into the village for the shop and PO etc. Lovely church yard and ruined Manor House. The Major bypass road works have made things a bit tricky but will finished later in 2015. Recommend it. Thanks Dave.

handy for Torquay but very hilly

a bit hard to find as bypass being built at time - ignore height warning sign for road as site is before bridge in question.   Hardstanding for motorhome (grass for caravans) - felt a bit like being in the middle of the farmyard - chickens running around.  Nice views from site.  Electronic gate for entry.  Buses to Torquay and Newton Abbott regular but about 30 mins walk UP and downhill to bus stop.  Supposed to have wifi but kept cutting off.   Nearest pub in village - again UP and downhill (dark at night).  Train track runs nearby but not too noisy.

Lovely stay

Ideally located for places of interest like Torquay and Newton Abbott. Great bus service within walking distance that runs every ten minutes. All of the facilities were good and it was nice to see free range chickens, geese and other animals on the site. Would definitely recommend this site.
