Not quite the 'gem' I was expecting.........

Entrance lane is unmarked from main road, and is down a 750 yard track littered with large pot holes with a ditch to avoid on the left side going in. We arrived earlier than anticipated but the welcome was not warm. Due to the weather we were sited on a scruffy part gravelled area and so never actually got to see the CL. Toilets and showers ( admittedly a bonus) were 'tired'. Not a site we would re-visit - but good value for money.

Nice - especially for price.

A decent cl that shares its facilities with an adjoining adults only site. I didnt see it as the gem many other reviewers did but I would certainly use it again. The field was large and flat and it was lovely and peaceful but I thought it was just a little tatty, on saying that I'm certainly not giving it a negative review as my 4 stars show and for 12 quid its good value. The local Spread Eagle pub serves a good meal and the Bass was pretty good as well.

gem of a site

This is a gem of a site. A warm welcome and very friendly. Good shower block/toilets and great price. Fishing on site if you want. Field for dog walking Rolleston is a great village, shops/pubs nearby.

Name one better

A good welcome by Mr Jennings and shown to our pitch. Very knowledgeable about the area. Pitches well kept, toilets, shower and toilet area well looked after. Cleaned at least once a day. Good views, lots to see and do.

Top notch!

A lovely peaceful CL despite my visit being on a bank holiday! The CL Is adjacent to a caravan site which also looked very nice and had distant views. The caravan site toilet block was immaculate. The owner is very laid back and accommodating. Happy for you to leave whenever you like on your last day. I shall return!

Great Site

This is a great site. We stayed here for 6 nights at just £12 per night including free hot showers and 16amp electric hook up. A real bargain. The CL site is in a separate field off a much larger commercial site. Access to both is down a longish private road (only 1 van width!!) with a couple of passing places. There is a keypad operated barrier (great for security). The site is within a few minutes walk of Rolleston on Dove - a delightful village with a couple of excellent pubs with wi-fi and real ale. We'll gladly return!

Great stay. - Lovely little site

Great find. Very helpful owner who was visible doing some improvements to the site but not intrusive. Very clean toilet and shower block, free hot water! Nice touches like a bookcase with paperbacks and flowers too. Site level in places but on a slope for some pitches. Very spacious and TV reception excellent. Some machinery on site I think due to improvements but views good and lots of bird life. 2 pubs about a mile away both do great food and village centre has shop and butchers. Great find We will come back.

A great CL

We return to this CL frequently as we have family locally. We are always made very welcome. We don't have to worry if the CL is full as it is attached to a campsite where we could stay if necessary, at the same cost. The showers and loos are adequate and there is a washing machine, tumble drier and place to hang out washing. There is plenty of room on the site and a choice of grass or hardstanding. The entrance road is an unadopted lane and rather rutted although the campsite owner does his best to frequently fill in the potholes. The local shops and post office are within walking distance and the newsagent will deliver newspapers to the site.

July weekend

Lovely little site. Large flat field with enough hard standing for 3 - 4 vans. Plenty of taps and hookup points. Large private caravan site adjacent but does not interfere with the cl. Use of the toilet block facilities if required.  Road not tarmaced so can be a little bumpy on arriving/departing. Friendly owner.

Nice little site

Stayed here for a weekend to go to the Hatton Carnival and Rollestonbury - very convenient for both. A nice sheltered CL with a bigger field nearby that was a bit more open. Well kept toilets and showers with friendly and helpful site wardens on the field. Didn't notice any traffic noise - very peaceful.  Would definitely return to this site - a bargain with the facilities.
