It was very easy to book online. The owner kept us updated with arrival details which made it all so easy for us. We had a great stay here , even the rain didnt worry us. Our 3 dogs loved the site and nearby walks. Great location close to some beautiful places.
We asked the owner if we could have our friends to visit and he got back to us really quickly and they had a great visit. Campsite has plenty of space on your pitch and is kept very clean and tidy
We would highly recommend and will return next year .
Each pitch has its own fresh water tap and EHU and wooden blocks for steadies if required. Pitch was very level. We loved seeing the wildlife and the friendly horses in the next field.
We had a great stay thank you so much.
Loved it
Stayed for a few nights last week and loved it. Not a massive cl but enough room. Very easy to book online. Email sent by owner with full instructions. Sat in the awning one night and a fox was in the next field, he stopped and looked at us, don't think we've ever been so close to one, it was lovely. Heard the owl one night too. The only downside was that we couldn't get tv reception, but we knew this could be a possibility before we went. We will definitely be back, not too far from us. Loved it.
Lovely site, shame about the aircraft
Stayed here for 5 nights with husband and 2 dogs and loved everything about this site apart from the noise from aircraft coming in to land at Luton. It’s such a shame. The site is very well organised and there’s lots to do in the local area. There’s a lovely pub just a few minutes down the road, and there’s miles of great walking straight from the site. You do get used to the aircraft after a while, but it did spoil the peace and tranquility, which was a shame.
Pleasant stay.
Just returned from a very pleasant stay. The site is well maintained and fenced. All site services within easy access. Nice and level, neat and tidy but comfortably homely with some areas left as meadow with wild flowers etc. Horses quietly grazing in adjacent paddock. Easy to get to, rural, but with good roads to local attractions. The Ashridge Estate is very close by (bit like the New Forest) and well worth a visit. Major towns not to far and easy runs. Berkhampstead is a small town about 5 miles away with all the essentials plus some lovely individual shops and eateries on the high st. Would definetly go there again
Great short stay at a beautiful location
This is a great CL with stunning scenery and all the amenities you need for a lovely experience. All pitches have electricity and water. Getting rid of waste is also very easy and convenient. I can highly recommend this CL t. you wont be disappointed.
A really nice CL with a very easy booking system
Firstly, the booking system for this CL is brililant, instantly see if there's availability and pay by credit card, great comms from the owner via email prior to arrival so I knew exactly what to do, pitch allocation, gate code etc etc.
Although the field is large, it is only partly mown, but the 5 pitches themselves are mown short and level, clearly marked and with EHU and tap for each, which, with the option to drain direct into the hedge/fenceline, means they are in effect 'fully serviced'.
There is stacks to do in the local area and the nearby scenery is beautiful with walks onto the nearby chalk ridges, Ascott House and Waddesdon House (NT), college lakes nature reserve and Whipsnade Zoo all nearby and walks and nice cycling routes direct from the site too. The local pub is an 8 minute walk and serves food, although we only popped in for a drink, it looked very nice and beer was excellent.
My only small gripe is that the two 'pairs' of pitches are grouped quite close together in one end of what is a a really big field, I suspect there may have been complaints from a neighbouring property about seeing the vans across the field as there is a random fence erected in the middle of the adjacent field and some conifers recently planted, presumably to screen the view?? The individual pitches are a bit bigger than a club pitch as long as they are pitched on sensibly. I ignored the longer grass when manoeuvring as there was no way of getting the van on the pitch without driving over it and it sprang back OK.
Although we didn't see the owner during our stay, the email instructions and boards next to the taps gave us all the info we needed and he replied to an email query very quickly, so this wasn't a problem for us at all.
Aircraft noise was present at times, but not bad by any means. I guess it depends on the wind direction, we certainly didn't notice it at unsocial hours during our stay. There is zero road noise and other than that it is extremely peaceful with lots of wildlife about.
More than just a stop over site - A real good find
Everything including the original booking-in system online could not have been better. We booked this site originally for a stop off after travelling to a festival North of London to break our journey back home. What a lovely surprise ! The site is extremely secure, well set out with roomy pitches including EHU & water, everything we needed. We were informed before arrival of our pitch number etc which helps with setting up on arrival, everything was extremely organized. It is located in an area of natural beauty with plenty of walks direct from the site. During our 3 night stay (early June) we did not have any noise problems with aircraft. Needless to say we look forward to returning next year & maybe stay a bit longer. Thanks for having us.
Very Well Organised
This is a lovely CL with EHU and Water on every pitch ( so no need for a water barrel if you have the hose link). It is situated in an area of outstanding beauty with many lovely walks nearby particularly the Reservoirs and The Grand Union Canal nearby.
BUT As some other reviewers commented on it is directly on the flight path into Luton Airport and now that Covid is under control flights have probably increased by 200% since last year's reviews.
It is non stop at weekends and goes on till 2am in the morning and starts again at 6am.
This is a great pity because the owner could not have been more efficient with the booking

Just what I was looking for
Nicely secluded, secured gate access, five spacious pitches well provisioned and laid out. Very pleasant to see the horses on the other side of the pitch fence. A little occasional aircraft noise common to this area same as Bucks. My stay was thoroughly relaxing complete with a couple of walks to the beacon not too far away. There’s not much more one would ask for, a lovely little site and hope it stays that way, it’s so much nicer staying on CLs like this one.
I will definitely be returning later in the year.
Alovely few days getaway
What a lovely site, so well organised, Water, electric, wood blocks available at all pitches. We were staying to see friends and family that were local and the directions were accurate and easy to follow, even for some of our visitors.
Other than a bit of noise from the planes going in to land at Luton it was very quiet. Walks with the dog up Hog Hall Lane ( Icknield Way) was just lovely. Lovely views and not too many centurions.
