Countryside and Seaside on the doorstep

We cannot thank the owners enough for all the help they gave us through our stay! The site is tucked away from a road with very little road noise, and none in the evening, or night time. It was so silent it took a few nights to get used to! The site has trees and shrubs all around and it is adjacent to farmer’s fields. The weather for us was overcast or raining most of our stay but I bet the sky would be fabulous on a clear night as there is no artificial lighting around to spoil a starry sky. Plenty of space for each unit, awning and car. Clean facilities, including a small library of books and DVDs to loan. About 1 mile from Huttoft Beach, 10 minutes or so to Sutton on Sea, by car, for take always or dine in food. A little further to Mablethorpe, or Skegness. I felt safe running alone along the beach promenade from Huttoft to Mablethorpe. It has lovely sandy beaches and dune backed stretches. There were even surfers in the water at Mablethorpe! Thank you again, Paul and Mandy.

A cracking well run CL

We had a 3 night stay here during the July heatwave. Paul was very welcoming on arrival and showed us the facilities. All very clean although we didn’t use them on this visit. Plenty of space between each pitch and shielded from the road. All grass was short and regularly cut and around the bins and chemical disposal point it was spotless. We cycled to Hutoft beach which was easy and pretty flat. A super stretch of soft sand. We used the concrete route behind the dunes to cycle into Sutton on Sea. A lovely ride. We then cycled on quiet lanes to Anderby Creek, another lovely stretch of beach. One day we toured around the wolds which are easily accessible from the site. Louth, Castor and Alford are all worth a stop plus many villages especially Tealby and the “Tennyson” villages. Take Paul’s advice and get fish and chips from Waldos in Sutton. Some of the best ever! Thank you Paul. A great stay.

We do love to be beside the seaside!!

We spent the first two weeks of September at Paul and Mandy's lovely CL. Strange time to be away as we are still in the midst of the COVID epidemic and were not sure what to expect. Warm welcome from Paul (no tea or coffee but will will let him off as it was probably due to COVID!!) who showed us where to pitch and where everything was then left us to set up. Yes there are markers for where to pitch - this is to ensure you are the correct distance apart and it is the most level place to pitch. Toilet clean - anti bac spray provided to stay COVID safe. Brilliant location to visit local area and fishing on site (fee payable) for those who want to. Views from the site across fields - can't quite see the sea but its there on the horizon. Plenty of local attractions. We wanted a really lazy break so didnt do much - gives us the perfect excuse to return. We visited Natureland at Skegness which was OK, Lincolnshire Wildlife Park (very good) and the Lincolnshire Heritage Aviation Centre in nearby Spilsby. It was brilliant - so much for the whole family - you can spend the whole day there. Very nice and reasonably priced meal at The Red Lion in Mumby - about 5 minutes drive from the site. Beaches lovely and lots of places where dogs are allowed all year round. We do not have a dog but worth mentioning that you would probably need to drive to the beach as it is 2 miles to the nearest access point at Huttoft Car Terrace (fee to park and plenty of room for motor homes to park for the day) Nearest large supermarket is Lidl in Mablethorpe (13 mins from the site) . Tesco at Skegness id about 10 miles. Plenty of smaller supermarkets in Sutton On Sea and Mablethorpe plus local shops in Alford. Site is kept really well - Paul cut the grass regularly while we were there in readiness for next arrivals, cleared the rubbish and recycling daily and loo rolls and soap always available in the toilet. We loved it here and will definitely go back in the not too distant future.

May Day Break 2019

Just returned from our May Day break at Dairy Farmhouse. The Cl owners were extremely welcoming and helpful. The Cl is well kept and well worth a visit if you are staying in this area. Although it is close to the road I can honestly say that we heard no road noise. Just a shame the weather was awful!. We will stay here again

Unbelievably good!

Unbelievably good! We didn't know what to expect and needed to be very aware of budgets for this years holiday. This site was excellent we had a lovely pitch in the shade but with plenty of room to spread out into the sunlight if wanted. It is 5 minutes in the car to a free parking, dog friendly beach that you can walk across for miles. The owner (Paul) was friendly and very welcoming and always waved as we went in and out of the site. Sutton on Sea is very much an unspoilt sea side town with everything you could ask for, excellent bakers, butchers and general grocery store. The toilet was spotless. We will hopefully return...

Another CL for our revisit list

As the title suggests we will return to this one probably same time next year. Very friendly owners, well kept pitches and spotless toilet what more do you need. Loved our stay.

A bit disappointed

After reading other peoples comments we booked the site for a short break. When I printed off the site details it indicated that fishing in the small pond was free to members quote.."Members are welcome to fish for free". The weather during our stay was not good, we had wind, rain, hail and sleet so I resisted fishing until our last evening when I sat for about an hour before retreating to the warmth of the van. Just as we were about to leave I saw Paul and said that I had fished for about an hour the previous evening... that's £3 he said. I paid but suggested he contact the club to amend the site info to show that fishing was not free. This was not taken well although he returned my money. I have checked the site info now and the reference to free fishing has been Deleted User.

Well laid out site

This is the second time we have been to this site. Paul is a nice man who keeps everything in order. Even though it poured down big time one night no pools of water in the morning. We will stay here again.

Little Gem

Lovely little site. Welcomed by Paul, who showed us where everything was and made us a nice cuppa while we set up. Everything was so clean and tidy. Well looked after by the owners. Close enough to the beach as well as Sutton-on-Sea and Alford. Will be definitely going back to this site again, may even take the fishing rods next time.
