A great example of what a CL should be

Stayed here over the August bank holiday with friends. The site is impeccable and the owners are really nice people. There are plenty of places to explore on the Dengie Peninsula and this site is ideally located. Or you can just chill out and enjoy the views over to Kent from the site whilst sitting on a lounger, enjoying a glass of wine, watching the sun go down! We shall be returning next year.

Our first trip away ...

We chose this site for our first trip away as it was only 45 minutes from home. We struck gold! We had a wonderful welcome from Sue and John, the owners, who were very friendly and helpful but unobtrusive. Lovely lawned area with tall hedges and mature trees on three sides. Large open field adjacent with far reaching views. We saw pheasants, squirrels and hares. Lots of birds too. The area was very quiet and peaceful. We had a great stay in the company of one other caravan whose owners were very hospitable and who shared their fire pit with us on one of the evenings. We know the Dengie quite well and will definitely return whenever we want a break away not too far from home.

We have stayed many times before

We have stayed on this beautiful site many, many times over the past 9 years and we absolutely love it. John & Sue, the owners, are so lovely and welcoming. Peace and quiet in abundance with local towns not far in the car. We have our favourite pitch, but to be honest they are all good. Sue keeps the CL in tip top condition and views from there are lovely. We take our chairs and wine, in the evenings, to watch the sunset and you do get some beautiful sunsets. If you stay at this lovely place, you won’t be disappointed.

Brilliant 😃

Sadly we only spent 1 night here after an awful night at another site in Burnham but we could happily have stayed for much longer. Sue was fantastic, greeted with a warm welcome and so friendly. We had our dog with us who was allowed on a huge field during our stay. Would highly recommend a stay here x

My first time!

This has been my first experience! I’ve never owned or towed a caravan before joining the Club, taking a manoeuvring course, and coming here. What a great start! Mr and Mrs Horton are so kind, helpful, and welcoming, but not intrusive. The site is beautifully maintained and quiet. I’ve been here twice for practice and there’s plenty of space, only one other pitch in use both times, and a maximum of four at any time. So, I have my caravan set up so I can look out across open fields with no one else in sight. It’s beautiful. But also very safe. Lovely if you have a dog. The site is grass, which I wanted but had concerns about getting stuck, because I don’t have a four wheel drive. But no worries here! I arrived the night after a torrential downpour, there was more rain the first night, but the lovely lawn like pitch is firm and as easy to drive on as a road. Mrs Sue Horton tells me there are nearby gravel pits, which means the area has great natural drainage. So if you want to try a grass pitch in a lovely countryside setting, this is a great place. It’s also just a short drive from great country pubs, restaurants, riverside and seaside towns to suit all tastes. So countryside and water pursuits of all types are available. I highly recommend this site for a quiet and dog friendly break, with plenty to do in the area. Nina

Wonderful Site

We were booked to stay here for 7 nights but loved it so much stayed for 10. It is the most peaceful and quiet site we've ever stayed on and the views from our pitch were amazing. John and Sue made us very welcome and we have booked another week later this year. Highly recommended.

Peace and quiet.

Just had 7 night at this smashing CL, absolutely loved it, nice and peaceful like being in someone's back garden. Was nice weather while we were there but very breezy, when the wind died down it was sublime. Very nice owners and yes I will be visiting again.

Outstanding

We initially booked for two nights but thankfully there was availability so we extended our stay. This is a beautiful location with currently just four very large pitches. Adults only and lots of space. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. The 4G coverage with Vodafone was very good. Highly recommended.

Peaceful haven

A lovely little site and great place to relax. Excellent warm welcome from Sue upon arrival. Easy access to Burnham on Crouch and Maldon- which we would highly recommend for a visit. Will definitely return.
