Second stay at this Diamond gem

Although not the cheapest of CL's, this is a large and scenic site, with a clean WC and shower block. Although it is a pound to use the shower, it gives you 10 minutes in a spacious cubicle and is very well cleaned and maintained by the owners. This site is ideal to discover local points of interest such as Scarborough, Filey and other Yorkshire coast beauty spots, as well as in-land areas such as Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors. Mr Lightowler is friendly and chatty, and really maintains the CL to a high level. A great base to utilise time after time.

Nice site but too expensive

This is a spacious site. Pitches are well spread out, some with hedges between, but all allocated by the owner so you can’t chose your own. 6 caravans were pitched while we were there. We had a little difficulty getting level on the sideways sloping pitch that we were given. Paid £20 deposit but now £25 per night with electric. We don’t understand why awnings are extra on any site, advertised here at £2 pn extra but a previous review says £3 now. There is a toilet and pay-for shower but we didn’t use them. A lot of noise at peak times from the 60mph main road passing the entrance. Overpriced for a CL in our opinion.

PERFECT and retuning soon

This cl is absolutely wonderful and very clean facilities. The owners are extremely welcoming and friendly and are everything you would wish for. Over priced

Spent 3 nights in July 2023 site nice enough facilities ok have been on better (cheaper and worse a lot cheaper) cl,s . The club said £20 per night actually £25 shower nice but had to be paid for !!!!!mmm the most upsetting thing was an extra charge for an awning amazing how is it when you pay £25 for a pitch you then have to pay £3 for your awning on the same pitch you have already paid for and then no ground sheet of any kind allowed, I went from there to Thirsk club site £26 per night complete with awning with ground sheet and free showers ( ps nice wardens at Thirsk )

Great peaceful site with lovely views

This is a lovely quiet site with lots of space and great views. Shower is amazing and the hosts are very helpful. I would love to return.

Long weekend

Such a beautiful site and the owners were fantastic. Couldn't have wished for anything better. So dog friendly too. Great pub down the road called the Foxhound you should try.

Diamond Wood review

This is the best CL we have ever stopped at. Although the Shower and toilet were closed due to COVID regulations, you cannot fault anything. Beautiful grass pitches, which were very quiet and peaceful. Very handy for Filey and Scarborough. We are back here on July 24th for another 7 nights. The Lamb’s

Excellent Cl

Just had the most relaxing weekend at this CL, great spot with wonderful views, site is clean and well maintained. Pub 10 mins walk away (The Fox Hound Inn) which did fabulous food. Drive to seaside town Filey. Will definitely come here again. Thanks to the owners for a wonderful weekend.

The best CL found in 19 years caravanning.

Perfect. Absolutely perfect. Ideal location for the coast. The site is spacious & beautifully maintained. Toilet & separate shower room are good & very clean. Chemical toilet disposal clean & easy to use. The site is well drained. Even with unseasonable downpours the ground remained firm. Good views too. Morrisons supermarket not too far away. The owners are very nice, friendly & most helpful. Our only regret is that we didn't discover this site years ago. I recommend this site without hesitation & we will be back without a doubt.

Lovely CL

A Warm and friendly greeting on arrival to this very spacious CL. Facilities were spotless. Good locations for Resorts and the Wolds Way. One for our "Return and Recommend List"
