Easy motor-homing

We stayed here in June, having stayed on the adjoining certified site last year. This one is one hedge further from the main road, which is in any case a field away. Access is very good. The site is fairly level (easily corrected with levelling blocks), with pitches marked out and electric easily accessible. The grass is well tended. There are a couple of hard standings, if preferred. There are more pitches than required, so although we were late arriving, we had a good choice. There is more to Chideock and the immediate surrounding area, than would ever be perceived by just driving through on the main road. Seatown is a 10 minute walk away, with the famous Anchor Inn. Chideock Manor, if the gardens are open, is worth a visit, as is the Catholic Church and Chideock Museum adjacent. Bus services are very frequent through the village, so busing it a few miles east or west, and walking back either on the coast or inland, is easy. If you just used this site on the way to somewhere else, you may well wish that you had given yourself longer here.

THird time

I quiet site, well looked after in a stunning location. Ideal for those who like walking and fishing. Not to far to other locations. The only drawback is that the manager lives a of site and its a free for all when arriving. On my last visit I was the 7th on site as members leaving seem to think they could stay all day before leaving. When pointing out that the off time is 12pm, they became stroppy. If the site happened to be inspected at that time then they could lose their license. In three visits have only seen the manager once

Lovely CL in Dorset

There are actually 2 CLs on this site, Doghouse and Broadlands, seperated by a hedge. Easily found, the site is just a couple of hundred yards off the A35 - although traffic noise is not really noticeable. The views of the surrounding countryside and hills are stunning. The site slopes gently, so you will need levelling ramps, but the grass was nicely cut and there is a track running past the pitches. There are no recycling facilities, which is a bit strange these days, but the chemical toilet point is good and there are 2 fresh water taps. There are 3 pubs within walking distance, and access to the coast is good. There is a Londis store in Chideok, and Morrisons in Bridport is only a couple of miles away. A lovely CL and we will definitely go back.
