Lovely site and owners

We booked two nights here so we could visit family and friends, never been before. We had a lovely greeting, the owners and family couldn't do enough for us and so relaxed. It's a quiet, tucked away place but easy for M4 Junc 35 and great for the beaches at Ogmore and surroundings. It's well set out with tiered pitches for great privacy and they have a newly installed/renovated toilet for the visitors. I understand they even do Sunday dinners for visitors. It's a real treasure of a site for all these reasons, we are likely to be returning. Thank you very much.

What a great place to stay, so friendly and well organised. Perfect

Nic and Rob made us feel really welcome from the moment they opened the gate and all week. The site is well sign posted and an easy road in and out. Each pitch is hard standing and has its own grass area with a table and chairs, plus your own drinking water tap, so no lugging the water back and forwards. It is a really nice touch having a toilet and washing machine available if you require them. Your view is looking over a field with two horses, so take your carrots and apples as both the horses are very friendly and partial to the odd treat! It is so quiet you will will sleep well. There are lots of places to visit in the area, really enjoyed our visit to the Royal Mint, and having lunch at the fish and chip shop on the front at Barry. I would really recommend

Gem of a site

we stayed here for a week and found the site excellent, we were welcomed and nothing was too much trouble our host even took the trouble of writing down places for us to visit, we had a roast dinner brought to our van and for £6.99 it was much more than we expected it was delicious, we had water, electric hook up and table and chairs on each pitch with very well planted conifers and shrubs for privacy, the site was easy to find and well sign posted, we have been touring in a caravan for many years and this one comes on as one of the top sites we have had the pleasure to stay in, if you stay here go to castle coch it is amazing, thank you for such a great break

Rest & Relaxation

We initially selected this site due to it's location and proximity to enable us to visit family members. This is the first time we have used a CL site and were very impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of our hostess. It was very easy to find and we were greeted like "long, lost friends" even though this was our first visit (we DO intend to visit again!). Easy access to the M4 which can take you to many visitor attractions in under an hour. (Need to research what you want to see as there is so much to do and see) The site was well laid out with plenty of room on each pitch with water provision on each one - no going to fetch/refill up drinking water, and easy to fill your on-board water tanks whenever required. Our TV worked from our on-board aerial which was a surprise as we were the lowest pitch in the field. The facilities were clean and fresh. Outdoor table and chairs were also provided on every pitch, and it was very pleasant to sit outside with a cool drink, listening to bird song and watching the ponies in the field. Overall: a very enjoyable experience which helped us "recharge our batteries" in a tranquil and peaceful setting. Thank You

A great break

This site is run by a lovely family and we arrived quite late in the evening. There are five level pitches on a steep site and I’d recommend top three if tv signal is important to you. Pitches are spacious with water to each pitch though watch for stinging nettles near the electric point in pitch three. There are two chemical waste drains. One at the top of the site one at the bottom. Recycling and bins are at the top of the site. The view is a field with horses and was pleasant. You are within good distance of many places as it’s only ten minutes to the M4 and the site is quiet. The toilet is basic and in a small shed but is kept clean. One great bonus is that for £6.99 a head the family will do a Sunday roast dinner which is lovely. We had beef with all the trimmings and fresh veg with extra gravy. Fantastic. Our only criticism is around access and exit for a big unit. It’s tight and you need to take care. On entry when you drive through the gate there is a fountain slightly off centre which restricts space. Also if there is also a family car parked to the left, the challenge becomes greater. Once you are through the narrow access by the house the site opens up. If I was the owner I’d remove the fountain altogether. On leaving we had asked the site owners not to leave a car to the right and thus made the exit much easier. However on turning on to the lane our caravan scraped on the ground on the right side as it’s quite a tight right hand turn on to the lane. You don’t get this on the way in. I’d widen the entrance and level the ground to improve exit. I say this not to be negative as this is a fine site for smaller units and motor homes. However for large units it’s a challenge. Ours is an 8 metre twin axle.

A little gem

We booked this site last minute from nearby Porthcawl. We were so pleasantly surprised by the lovely pitches which were spacious, had water, electric and t.v aerial, table, chairs and sunshade. Fantastic. The planting between pitches gave privacy too. This is a lovely welcoming site and we would recommend it highly. We would like to thank the owner for fitting us in last minute on 9 July. The washing machine and dryer would be very handy for travellers that had been on the road a while. Great site nearby M4 with no noise.

Pleasant stay recommend

We stayed here for two night in order to go to s concert at Cardiff Millenium. Nicola was very welcoming and went out of her way to assist with parking facilities in Cardiff by going online and getting information. Our pitch had drainage and a water tap and shower facilities were available. The toilet was clean. The site is surrounded by fields with horses in and the area is ideal for dog walking. Easy access to Cardiff and beach about 15 minutes drive away. Very pleasant stay.

Lovely CL

This is a lovely CL, no problems with directions and access which is well signed. The pitches are on various levels with bushes in between each pitch to give a little bit of privacy. No problem siting the caravan and the access road into the site ends down the bottom with a turning place so after unhitching you have no unnecessary maneuvering to park up your car. The pitches face onto a lovely big field with trees around - two horses living in there when we visited. The cherry on the cake though was the fantastic Sunday roast dinner delivered to our pitch by Mr & Mrs Rees. We had family visiting and this made a lovely end to the day.

FANTASTIC PLACE.

Visited for two nights on our way to South Wales and again for one night on our way home. We couldn't have been made more welcome if we had been staying for a month. Everything is on hand regarding facilities which are kept immaculately clean by the owner. We took advantage of the Sunday dinner prepared by Nicola which was would you believe, was delivered to our van and worth every penny. This CL deserves to be considered for CL of the year, it will certainly get our vote. Mr & Mrs S Ferguson. Visited June 2017. PS. Sorry for the skid mark on the grass on leaving. . .
