short break

Perfect overnight couple of days break. Stayed on route to break up our journey south from north of Scotland. Friendly site and owner. Did not invade our space and let us get on with our time. Did cycle into Harrogate the 1st 1/2 mile from the site is on a main road, but this did not give us any issues. levelling blocks are required and preferably quad, we only have triple levelling blocks. Would definitely return.

Easy Life

Convenient location just off the A59, don't let this fool you - we stayed over a weekend and didn't hear any traffic noise, slopping site, with views between the farm buildings, Convenient for RHS Harlow Carr, Harrogate and Ripley. Easy access into the field. Well kept and grass well mown.

Short September Break

We booked Dyke Bottom purely because we were attending a wedding in Harrogate, but decided to stay on longer. The site is easy to find on the road out of Harrogate, although that same road is very busy at times when heading back into Harrogate, and has a couple of difficult to negotiate roundabouts/junctions. Good, if rather bumpy approach road and through a gate on the right to the pitches. Our pitch had a bit of a slope and needed many ( provided) blocks due to it being a long unit, but we got there in the end! The outlook is beautiful, especially in the sunshine, and the site is well kept. There is some road noise but didn't bother us at all. We were given good information on arrival and the owners were friendly. We would visit again as we didn't have time to visit some of the attractions in the area, and this is a well positioned site in that respect, and only a couple of miles out of Harrogate, which I have not visited for many years. Highly recommend.

Lovely cl site

Just had a very pleasant stay, The grass was mowed and ALL the grass cuttings were collected, that is a bonus as on other sites you are walking in grass. A pleasant walk to hampsthwaite about 4 miles return, bought fresh eggs which is always nice, very nice owners, very helpful and given information pack which makes it easier when you first arrive. Thank you for a great stay

Great CL

Really well cared for CL , grass nice and short slightly sloping but not a problem. The only downside is traffic noise from the main road and nowhere to walk the dog from the site

Nice and peaceful

We have just had six enjoyable nights on this site, it's ideal for visits to Harrogate, Knaresborough and the Dale's. It's well kept with owners that make you wecome

Excellent CL site

I Have just spent three weeks on this fabulous CL site. Very friendly welcome from the farmer and his wife. Hard standing pitch was only slightly sloped but it was very easy to straighten with levellers. Water and electric supply nearby. Wonderful views of the countryside and lovely to see the sheep and cows on the working farm. There is a good pub nearby, within five minutes walk. A farmers shop within cycling distance. Not too far to walk into Harrogate, about 40mins. And the beautiful Fewston reservoir is less than ten minutes drive away. Ripley Castle and Knaresborough are also nearby and well worth a visit. Plenty of great cycle routes to explore the Yorkshire Dales. Good value for money and I will definitely be back and would recommend this site.

Lovely Site and Helpful Owner

We stayed at this site in August 2020. The owner was really helpful when we arrived and ensured we had a really lovely pitch that was big enough for our motorhome and awning. The scenery around is wonderful and Harrogate is a couple of miles in the car. There are two pubs within walking distance, however to get to either you need to walk on Skipton Road, where there are no actual paths at the side of the main road and this made the walk difficult and not very enjoyable. This was the only negative about the site, that you couldn't easily walk to anywhere. (this is important for us as we have a dog) Harrogate is less than ten minutes in the car, so great for access into Town and surrounding areas

Pleasant overnight stay for Cycling World Champs

The description of this CL is accurate and fair. As they say - no loos or showers...It's well situated in a peaceful, scenic location. That it is a working farm is an added bonus, though I think the sheep were pretty underwhelmed by the cycling! The "hardstanding" is actually gravel however and while that's better than muddy grass in wet weather, it can still be difficult to traverse...but hey there's a friendly farmer with a tractor on hand so why worry? Apart from that it's well kept with a little information shed, easy "road" access to refill your water tank and friendly, helpful owners. We enjoyed our short stay and will go back...
