Lovely site spoilt by industrial metal workshop directly next door

This is a nice CL in well kept surroundings. A Friendly lady greeted us on arrival. Unfortunately they had just sprayed sewage on the field behind the campsite, so the smell was terrible. Not a great start, but a part of country life. Unfortunately once set up where suggested, we were asked to move as apparently there are only 4 hook ups on the grass, so we're asked to move next to the barn. This area seemed good until the noises begun very early in the morning. I was hoping to hear a dawn chorus but was woken up instead by "Ironman ". Angle grinding and heavy hammering from 6am onwards, reversing vehicle beeping, then sounds like a digger tracking backwards and forwards. Such a shame.

Another wonderful break

Have just returned from a six day stay at Covington. Although only thirty miles from where we live, it is a different world. Peace and relaxation are a given. This is the third time we have stayed here, and we will definitely be back. Plenty of room, level pitches and lovely facilities. We really could not ask for more. Anyone looking for a peaceful break will be hard pushed to beat this great site.

Shame we only had one night.

We used this site recently for a one-night stopover, and wished we could have stayed longer. There's plenty of room, everything is kept spotless, it's so quiet you'll think you've gone deaf, there are terrific dog walks from site and the village is really pretty, although it will only take you about ten minutes to see it all. Close to plenty of small towns and villages worth exploring, and very easy to get to. We didn't see the owner, and had to put our fees through a letter-box. Some time soon, we must have a week here and have a better look around the area.

Peaceful and welcoming.

It's a shame that the reviews already written got lost in the recent 'glitch', but this site remains one of the best I have ever visited. Quiet and peaceful, you can almost hear the silence. Mr and Mrs Williams very welcoming, and we had a good chat! The site is set on a level area of grass, with electric hitch ups. The shower and toilet are wonderful. Lovely walks in the surrounding countryside start at the site. Small market towns in the area, such as Kimbolton, and Raunds, and Higham Ferrars, are all worth a visit. Some lovely local pubs in the area, and the countryside is attractive if not dramatic. I can highly recommend if you are looking for a peaceful break.

Perfect CL

Arrived to be met by the lady owner who was very helpful and she explained everything we needed to know about the site. We chose a hardstanding pitch with enough distance between us and the other three vans staying. The toilet and separate shower were very clean and fully working. There is recycling on site if people want to use it properly. The site was very quiet and peaceful and is everything a CL should be. A Gem.

Perfect!

What a fantastic site! Hard standing, neatly mown and well kept, info shed, loo and shower, secure access, peace and quiet, pleasant owners, what more could you want? Nearby Keystone has an award winning, but expensive gastropub serving delightful food, whilst in the other direction there is a country pub serving great pub food at reasonable prices. A short drive gets you to Grafham Water for cycling, walking, fishing or idling. We will definately be back!!!

Just.....lovely!

On arrival the chalkboards were very useful and direct you to a pitch. CL info shed very welcome and footpath access immediately from the site! Perfect! Great for wildlife too.....saw red kites and owls every day/night. Very helpful owners, despite their son being taken ill while we were there. Hope all is well now! Thanks, we will be back!

Peaceful and relaxing

Just spent the weekend at Fairy's Lodge Farm CL. What a peaceful and relaxing break it was. Owl hooting nearby one evening. Close by, there are some lovely small towns, and great pubs in the surrounding area. Facilities on site were spotlessly clean, and the shower room (separate from the toilet) was in fact a wet room! Very impressed, and will be returning again.

Excellent!

Lovely site situated at edge of village near the church.  The site is level and there are two/three large hardstandings, which was helpful when we had a couple of rainstorms.  We found the notices were helpful and unobtrusive: small chalk boards.  We are assisting our relatives who have moored their narrow boat a few miles away so all in all our caravan was parked on this site for three weeks.  The owners have been most kind and helpful so making us feel most welcome. We personally would not be too happy with people putting up swingballs, however large their pitch (see review below!. ) We are returning this week, to see how the narrowboat is progressing!  Would recommend to anyone coming to the area.
