Fairy's Lodge Farm

A lovely well maintained site, the owners were very friendly and made us feel welcome. We live only a few miles away from Covington and this was a great place to escape, we will definitely be back.

Very well kept site

I would say this is a CL with a club site feel. It is probably the best kept CL that we have visited and it very pretty to look at and well maintained. Lovely and peaceful and great dog walks straight off the site. However if you like a CL where you can sensibly pitch where you wish and empty your waste in the nearest hedge this is not for you. There are little signs for you to reverse up to and position in the middle of your caravan and it is preferred that you park in line on the gravel across the way from the grass. When full the site therefore feels a little cramped and not really a lot of room for children to play without fear of being too close to other peoples property. We did not dare to put a swingball up as we would have made a hole in the lawn. No Groundsheets of any kind are allowed not even breathable ones although this is not mentioned in the details.  We found the water pressure in the facilites to be low like everyone else has and the shower flicked between hot and cold and the toilet was difficult to flush if you were too soon after someone else. Overall it is a very nice site and the lady we saw was pleasant enough . Just a little too regimented and too many signs/instructions for our taste.

Great site!

The access and location is great. Excellent WC and shower and site feels secure and welcoming. The owners did not bother us at all, very relaxed and friendly. They have made a real effort to create a very nice site and clean facilities. The dog walks are great. Can't fault site at all. Great!

A Good CL to Try

Just spent a weekend at this CL(July 2015). It was easy to find following the instructions in the SD. The last stretch through the village is narrow but access is good. The site is accessed through  electronic gates, the owner had advised us before hand of the code. The site itself is fairly compact with short cut grass and an area of hard standing, pitching instructions are clear, and cars are parked on the gravel to protect the grass. Waste water & CDP are by the toilet, which are clean and tidy with a tap for rinsing. The site and village are very quiet, the nearest shops are at Kimbolton about 3 miles away. There are lots of walks directly from the site and the owner has marked maps for you to borrow. We walked across the fields to Tilbrook where you will find the White Horse for refreshments before the walk back. Grafham Water for cycling is a few miles away. There is a toilet and shower, although as has been mentioned the water pressure is low so the temperature goes from very hot to cold when water is being used elsewhere. There is no charge for the shower though. We really liked the site and it is one we will visit again.

Beware the hot shower!!

Lovely site, our first visit two weeks ago, very friendly owners. Very modern shower room, separate WC but beware the hot shower(free), water pressure is low and so temp can vary greatly. Minor prob as long as you are aware, owners say it is out of their control. Site fees £13 pn, £14pn inc porch awning, £15pn full awning incl EHU. Spacious level grass pitches, all face same way you park your cars on the gravel access road just across from caravans making site feel very spacious, good idea. No groundsheets allowed keeping grass very nice. Good location for exploring places of interest, Huntingdon, Cambridge,Wimpole Hall & Gardens, Bedford, Graffham water etc  We would definitely return.

Return visit still as good as the first!

Cracking CL site stayed last year and booked again this year. Warm welcome by Mrs Williams and our reserved pitch was waiting for us. The CL offers a shower and toilet. There is a new chemical disposal point, which makes that necessary job a little more pleasant. Look forward to visiting again

Lovely Site But One We Will Never Forget

We chose this site based on the really good reviews and we were not disappointed. We were lucky to have been able to spend a lovely peaceful evening sitting outside enjoying the evening sunshine. Everything was just perfect until ........ Later on my husband, daughter and two young grandsons were watching Thomas & Friends on the television and I was sitting quietly at the other end when I looked up at the open door and a man (the owner) stood there and politely said "could you turn your television down because it is 9.30pm". I was so shocked and upset I just said to my husband "turn it off". We have been camping/caravanning for 40 years and never been told off before while on holiday. What made this more unbelievable was the fact that the very same man drove round on his sit on lawn mower very close to all three caravans before 8.30 in the morning. This was extremely loud and would in all probability wake anyone who was still asleep. We were almost ready to leave to continue on our journey to Yorkshire. We walked some distance away from our caravan and turned the tv up louder than it was the night before and we had to listen really carefully to realise we had the tv turned on. We then asked the occupants of one of the other two caravans if they had reported us and they were shocked as to what had been said to us. We could have easily still been sitting outside chatting and we would have been louder than the tv. Please do visit this site because you won't be disappointed but remember to plug your headphones into the television before attempting to watch it if you are lucky enough to have warm weather and need the door open at the same time as having the television on.
